Friendsith is Magic:

I just realized that Darth Maul riding Dashie is one I never got. That's the Legacy Collection version from 2009? Shirtless Maul(Training)? I have the very first shirtless Maul from the 2001 Power of the Jedi Deluxe line, but never saw the Legacy Collection update in any of my local stores. He commands a pretty high premium on eBay because he wasn't a terribly common figure.

Just seen the latest Hasbro slides...

I like how despite there being separate entries for Mara Jade (Emperor's Hand) and Mara Jade Skywalker (Jedi) in the figure poll with the Jedi version winning they went and made the Emperor's Hand version anyway. Again.

Not toy news so I apologize but I can't help it...Del Ray just announced the Sword of the Jedi trilogy that will be written by Christie Golden...so we're getting a Jania Trilogy!

It might very well be. I'll check one of the online figure archives and see if he is.

(*Consults archives*)

Yep. He's a "slight repaint" of the Sith Evolutions figure.

Just Breaking!

The first images of the 2013 green Yoda-themed packaging for the Hasbro Star Wars line:

It's essentially the 2012 Darth Maul design with a new color and character picture to reflect the upcoming release of Attack of the Clones in 3-D. What do you guys think?

That instead of TPM figures warming the pegs all year, we'll have AOTC figures doing it?

No...wait. TPM figures will still be there.

That was a good read. It's nice to know that Hasbro is actually well aware of what the problem was. While I lament the death of the Vintage Line, at least I can hope that this means we'll be finding more figures of the same quality in the main line. The Star Wars line has really split into two. The main line, which was mostly the kid's line, and the Vintage line which had the figure that the collectors wanted, albeit at a higher price. Hopefully, they'll find a best of both worlds approach with the 2013 line, and learn from their distribution mistakes in 2012.

True...and Vintage isn't dead. It's just going away for a little while. Hasbro's hinted pretty strongly they'll revive the line in the foreseeable future because of its incredible popularity. My guess is that it'll show up again around 2015 when the Original Trilogy returns to theaters.

I would hope so. The Vintage line (including everything from its inception way back when the Original Trilogy Collection hit) is perhaps the single greatest thing that Hasbro has ever done with Star Wars. Seriously, I mean that.

It seems to be working fine for me and OdoWan. Try again. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the image.

ETA: Here it is again just in case...

Okay yep. It works fine...logo looks decent. I guess we'll probably get General Grevious for the Episode III image the way things have gone? I think I want Obi-Wan's Starfighter.

My guess is that Episode III's logo will be something like Grievous or a split image of Anakin morphing into Darth Vader. That is if Hasbro continues the current packaging design theme into 2014.
