The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Which ones? Post some pics of your figures if you do decide to open and display some of them!

I'll try to upload a bigger pic. The sandtrooper who lost the droids defected and is now helping Leia by carrying her away from Jabba. That actually worked out pretty well, I was able to convincingly make her look helpless. There are a few 70's figures here, including Lando and the droids, and Boba Fett. I have a Vader from the 70's somewhere. I love the jawa and the mouse droid (the mouse droid is from the 90's) ;)

received my first Ultra Act figure today. Ultraman Mebius. he's pretty awesome. the only bad things i have to say are that his chest piece falls off easily and you simply can not do the straight arm pose seen on the box.

And on Eiji Tsuburaya's birthday, no less. :techman:

Nice. :) I like it! Good little collection.

The confirmation of the Han Solo standalone movie for 2018? Yep, it's exciting news! I hope they cast somebody who can both act and remind people of 1970s Harrison Ford. :)

Pics are coming in from SDCC.

Here's some from Diamond Select's upcoming Ghostbusters line. For the lazy, the non-GB figs they have on display are Walter Peck, Janine, Dana as the Gatekeeper, Slimer, and the terror dogs. All of the likeness are excellent, and very much improved over Mattel's. The Slimer figure very much fits Ray's initial description of him as a "disgusting blob". My only two nitpicks are that Janine's glasses (glasses that are molded separately always look wrong on the figure), and the fact that The Gatekeeper looks more like Vigo than Dana.

DC Collectibles - Includes figures from Arrow, The Flash, Arkham Knight, Batman vs Superman, Batman TAS, and of course the comics.

Batman vs Superman from Mattel
- There are also movie props pictures on the next page

Oh, and this little thing will be displayed at Comic Con, too.

Information gleaned from the buildup to Comic-Con tells us that the Ahsoka/Darth Vader 2-pack from the Mission Series line (3.75") will hit store pegs in September with the launch of the new movie's toys and will retail for $14.99, a four- or five-dollar increase in the price of the Mission Series 2-packs over the current releases in the Rebels-themed packaging.

Not exactly an action figure but at Spencers they had items on clearance including a set of 4 Star Wars pint glasses (Vader, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, and Yoda) for $5 all four.

got Commander Cody today. he looks great, though his legs are a bit unstable. finally opened the Clone Trooper for a few pics.

Here's some video an SDCC attendee took of Hot Toys' Star Wars display, which includes the Falcon cockpit and the previously unannounced TIE Fighter, both of which are to scale with the 1/6 figures.

Just imagine what the prices will be on those...

Revelations for TFs was massive disappointing.

Other than Victorion, there was absolutely nothing new other than the existence of Scattershot (with no Technobots!) and that there will be no beast combiners or anything celebrating the anniversary of BW other than MP Beast Convoy by Takara.

And here is Victorion

Her weapon is from the G1 episode Cosmic Rust since her fan voted origin is a team female combiner from the sea of Rust. Her molds consist of 1 Hot Spot, 1 Hasbro Groove, 2 Alpha Bravos, 1 Breakdown and 1 Dead End.

I actually don't mind Victorion's combined form too much, but I have to say the team looks pretty... bleegh. That's an awful color scheme. :p

Maybe the head for the female Breakdown mold could be used for customization purposes to turn one of the Stunticons into a real tranny. :)

The combiner weapon is interesting though. Though I wish they could have used pre-existing characters for the individual team. The Dead End mold's head looks like Nightbird for example.

Yeah, the weapon is really cool but the rest not so much in that picture. I'm not overly keen on Scattorshot because he looks way too much like Silverbolt for me, but there's a lot of speculation about the fact that the version used for the convention still has Superion's head. I think there's a fair argument that a production copy won't have that problem (even though the G1 heads for Computron and Superion are similar in many ways), so perhaps the same might be true for Victorion's teams. I have to admit though having two Alpha Bravo mods seems pretty lazy. * :p

* says the guy who bought the Slingshot remold of Firefly and the Wildrider remold of Dead End.

Big Star Wars finds today! I found the entire Wave 8 assortment of The Black Series 6" line at my local Target, all except for Emperor Palpatine.

I bought the two they had that I didn't already own: Stormtrooper Luke and the red Clone Trooper Captain. :) I have to say, both are more impressive in person than they are in most online images. I like how they retooled Luke's Stormtrooper torso to make him a little shorter than the Stormtrooper Han figure from both the previous Wave 7 assortment as well as this one (he's repacked in a slightly different and multilingual box), and the small communicator Luke used on the Death Star and inside the Trash Compactor is a good little accessory to add to the package.

The Clone Captain is basically more of the same and just a simple red repaint of the first, all-white Clone that was also repainted green to become a Sergeant in the Wave 6 (Yoda) assortment, but he still looks pretty cool and the added grey highlights to the tibanna gas canisters on both his blaster pistol and rifle were great little touches.
