Balance of Terror has been my favorite since the first time I watched ToS all the way through!

It's interesting that Doomsday and BoT were splitting votes. Clearly the "space battle" crowd can't decide which episode to choose! It's also interesting that two effects driven shows are still so wildly popular. That, to me, is evidence enough that CBS did not NEED to do the new shots. Doesn't mean they shouldn't, either.

BoT. The only thing that could put "City" on top would be a rewrite where Spock vaporizes Edith just to get it over with.

I'm sticking with City even though it is clear I am going to lose this one. I guess I need to re-watch BoT to see what all the fuss is about. I remember it being an awesome episode, but not in the class of City or even Corbomite.
