The 24th century elements

Crewman47

Just wondering if the the events seen in the 24th century will be written into official Trek continuity or not which means that come 2387 in the novels the Romulans will no longer exist and Spock will be living in a past alternate reality?

I know that 2387 is the current Trek TV year (7 years after Nemesis) but I'm also aware that the novels are somewhere in 2383 or something. So it'll probably be a while before we get to that era for novels, unless they specifically have novels set in the year?

Since it happened on screen, it already IS part of the official Trek continuity. Books be damned, they don't count.

That was funny, i thought you were referring to the periodic table in the 24th century:lol:

Am i a nerd or what? :guffaw:

I'm not asking if books are canon or not, I know this. However the books do follow the same continuity and since these are part of Star Trek I'm only asking if future novels would incorporate the events we saw in Trek XI.

Btw I don't read the novels but I do follow what goes on with them and I do realise that at times continuity can be different in most of them but for the majority I'm assuming that continuity from the TV sereis still stands.

Why is it whenever someone asks a simple question involving novels people get defensive about them not being canon and what not. Everyone knows books aren't canon! Theres no need to remind us all everytime.
