The 2015 Mustang: Fifty Years On

We call those Jaguars.

Besides, so they take a bit of design language from Aston, it's not exactly a sin to do so in design. If it looks good, use it. Look at the Fusion, it's gorgeous, but nobody is going to confuse it with an Aston Martin at all, they're both completely different cars with two completely different purposes.

The new Fusion is attractive on the outside, but on the inside it wastes a lot of interior space much like the Focus. That huge sweeping dash and centre console makes it feel claustrophobic inside. It's eye-catching and conveys a cockpit like feeling, but it certainly doesn't feel spacious as befitting a family sedan. The fact the windshield angles so stepply and close to your head doesn't help matters. I can say the same about the Escape.

On the flip side I found the Edge's interior up front to be particularly nice without feeling tightly closed in.

I quite like the look of this new Mustang. Hmmm... I might be in the market for a new car this year.

I think it still looks too much like an Aston Martin. It's better then the other one I saw a while back, but the lines and contours still look the part.

That's not to say it's necessarily a bad thing--I love Aston Martins--but Mustangs always had a defined look (well Fords in general), and they seem to drifting away from it.

The new Focuses are the same way. I've often wondered if it's because Ford is trying to get a bigger hold on the European market.

Makes me wonder if they're maybe going for a unified product look across product lines, which I don't think has been attempted before with vehicles?

They are supposed to look like this:

^ That was a beautiful car, but clearly they are going for the late 60's fastback look, which is also gorgeous.

Obviously not the exact same proportions as the 68 model, but similar.
