The 2-week Countdown

Welp, it's official. Two weeks from today, I will be finishing up my last shift at TGI Fridays. I couldn't believe how many people were sad/angry when I told them the news. I guess I'm pretty popular around there.

On the other hand, I was just told 2 days ago that bartenders were getting a pay cut, so maybe it's not a bad time to be leaving.
 
Congratulations on that! I finally got to visit a TGI Fridays a few months ago with some friends. It was very nice and the food was good. I realize quality may vary from place to place, but I had fun. My friends got snockered. :D

Congrats. I used to work at a Fridays in Jersey long ago. Hard work, but so much fun! I was a server, but I always thought the bartenders did well for tail.....

That's what I keep telling myself whenever I have to go into one out here. I've only been into one where I've enjoyed the restaurant, and even then i found the menu uninspirired (That one was in Chase Field).

Congrats Rojo and may I say that I think you have impecable timing...:techman:
 
Wasn't Friday's the restaurant the movie "Waiting" was based on?

It's possible. Might explain why it's one of my favorite movies. It's an incredibly accurate portrayal of my restaurant.

Except all the gross kitchen stuff. None of that would ever happen in my store.


As for Fridays in general, they go through ups and downs. Corporate has this annoying habit of removing all the really good menu items.
 
Today I learned that they will be training 2 (possibly 3) new bartenders as my replacements. By the way, did I mention that I'm awesome? :lol:

People get weird sometimes when you say you're leaving. I always try to tell my immediate boss first and let it trickle down from there. When people ask about it, I keep it close to the vest. You never know when you might be working with/for/above some of them sometime.

I didn't really tell anyone except one friend and my general manager, but where they have my 2-week notice posted on the bulletin board in the office, it's hard to keep it a secret.

It's funny, though, because now I know how valued I actually was at that job. Some of the people are freaking out because they don't know how they'll manage without me around. I even caught my GM talking about how I was "the best bartender they have."


In other news, I think I found an apartment!
