The 10 Endangered TV Shows...

I love Fringe. It's one of my favourite shows. I started watching it because I used to have a crush on Joshua Jackson when I was a teenager (also, Denethor is there), but I loved the show from the first epiode.

Fringe is okay. I wouldn't be crushed if it ended.

Never seen Community except for some anime type bit they did about ping-pong, I think.

Alcatraz I abandonded after episode 4. I didn't care about the characters or the "mystery" enough to have to stay up till midnight watching BEING HUMAN's encore (since the first airing is at 9 pm, same time as Alcatraz), a show I like better.

The rest...meh...

You want them to cancel the show because you're unable to handle the side effects of parallel universes? Strange logic.
You don't get it, I can handle parallel universes, I can't handle getting rid of every character except Peter and replacing them with similar but new characters. All character development of the first three seasons has become irrelevant because we have a new Walter, Olivia, Nina etc., I don't know who these people are and I don't care, Fringe was always about the blue universe, that was the core of the show, introducing the red universe worked because it was connected to the blue one by Peter's kidnapping and it worked because it didn't replace the blue one, in enhanced the story.

With season 4 the writers got rid of the blue universe and that was an unforgivable mistake, because there's no way to fix it at this point, they can't simply have Peter return to the blue universe, that would make all of season 4 so far irrelevant and the writers would have to admit that it was a bad idea from the start, they can't stay in the amber universe because no none cares, is there anyone who isn't waiting for Peter to go home? And if they try to merge the universes by having people "remember" things that's a) cheap (Peter doesn't have to fight for Olivia's love, she remembers it) and b) still not the blue universe, even if Olivia remembers, she's still another Olivia remembering things she never experienced.

The amber universe should have been a two episode arc, by stretching it out over most of season 4 they destroyed the show, better cancel it now. What's the point in keeping it around? It doesn't even have the ratings to justify a renewal.

Pan Am
A Gifted Man
Alcatraz

These 3 aren't on the bubble they are dead and also I would be surprised not to see NBC renew Parenthood. The only on the bubble show I really care about is Fringe, which is likely dead unless it can jump a few points in the demo to say a 1.4 (at the moment 1.1/1.2 seems to be the base) Fringe also has more people watch it via DVR than live  come on people.

But the amber universe is the blue universe, the difference is that Peter didn't survive in this timeline. If people start remembering there basically is no difference between amber and blue.

As much as it pains me 90210 isn't on the bubble. Its the CW 4th highest performing show. Unless the network replaces 60% of its programming it will be back.

The point of the poster is still the same though. While for anyone in that universe that had no contact direct or indirect in Peter's life. For the characters on the show who had constant interactions with him, their members and life experiences are going to be different in some cases vastly different. Are character isn't set in stone. We are shaped by events and by the interactions with others.

As such these characters are going to be different characters. In some cases to a small degree in others its going to be significant.

SO yes it eradicates the characters that were seen from the pilot to the end of its world. And of course obviously Peter's father's change is going to predate his first appearance.

They all are mediocre or bad so they all need to go and none deserve a second season. In fact they pretty much need to get rid of everything they have(even if they won't)--we've got old tired dinosaurs like SVU and Supernatural which have over stayed their welcome and almost all of the new shows that premiered this season sucked--The Secret Circle, Revenge, Missing, Touch, Awake, Grimm(I know it was renewed but this is NBC we are talking about) etc.

Thankfully they are finally putting Desperate Housewives out of its misery--7 seasons too late. The Vampire Diaries I thought probably had one more season before it ran out of juice but I'm rethinking that after the weak run of the last 7 episodes.

The only show I'm on the fence about is Ringer. It had a really strong 10 episode run in the fall but kinda lost steam in this second half with far too much of a focus on Juliet and Catherine's storyline and some of the payoff to the long standing mysteries has been disappointing--I'm reserving judgment on the show until the final 4 episodes air. I really love Gellar in the dual roles but I'm leaning towards it being a one season wonder rather than being renewed and returning with diminished returns like so many limited premise tv shows do these days.

Overall though this was yet another really poor tv season.

i started out really liking Alcatraz. but it has became rather bland lately. hopefully it will pick up the pace soon.

Next week is the finale and I heard we do get some answers so I've stuck with it for this long might as well complete the season. I've actually enjoyed the last couple of episodes, even though this last episode was kind of predictable at the end.

And then they all come back as teachers for the movie and burn the place down amid a hilarious misunderstanding.

#2 (Smash) just got an early renewal. So much for that brilliant list. :rommie:

As for Fringe, that would be a FAR better candidate for Netflix to pick up vs Terra Nova and The River. I don't really care about any of them, but I certainly can tell which one has the most loyal and vocal fanbase who might be motivated to subscribe just to see that one show.
