That Stupid One Sentence Photo Novel Episode: Now Hotlink Free!

Captain Tracy

Commander
Red Shirt
With very special thanks for all the P.M.'s of support, and to the gentlemanly and dignified voice of Mutai Sho-Rin, we have elected to re-construct from the ashes, and Soldier-On,.. and dedicate our efforts to all of you.

Let's hope we make it to the second act this time!

*******************************************

To Re-Cap:

The Mid-1967 Hollywood Writer's Strike has hit Tinsel-Town hard.

Gene Roddenberry's STAR TREK is in full production,...

BUT today, there is NO SHOOTING SCRIPT!!

Bill Shatner - ever the hero - 'orders' all the Actors, camera men, sound tech's, and lighting guys to the stage,.. THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!,... and Bill knows they can improvise a single episode!

POST the most relevant single photo, and then, ADD your own SINGLE SENTENCE OF DIALOG and continue the episode,...

BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR PHOTO TO YOUR PERSONAL PHOTOBUCKET-TYPE ACCOUNT BEFORE POSTING TO THIS THREAD.

DO NOT 'HOT-LINK' DIRECTLY FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES - You will incur the warranted wrath of the highly professional moderating staff - AND completely screw up the storyline and derail the thread.

All the Actors are in position, and with no "Stardate Set-up",.. Bill calls: LIGHTS,.. CAMERA,... ACTION!!

HERE WE GO!

SPOCK: Captain, somehow...somehow those Romulan ships have anticipated the course change you've just now ordered and have increased their speed; they will intercept us in 1.4 minutes.

KIRK: A KLINGON distress signal,... in this region of space?,... Translation and Point-of-Origin Lieuntenant.

Klingon Commander (crackling):
This is....commanding the .....been ambushed by a fleet of Romulans...incredible speeds...10 birds of prey.....glorious deaths....request reinforcements....alliance with Terran....traitors...Organian Treaty....Glory to the Empire.

KIRK: Lieutenant,... send a Code Three message to StarFleet Command,... inform them of the situation,... Analysis and Opinion, Mr. Spock?
.

SPOCK: I would speculate that the Romulan fleet attacked the Klingons and now the Klingons either believe us to be in an alliance with the Romulans; or perhaps the Klingons are seeking an alliance with us against the Romulans; difficult to discern given the Klingon commander's garbled transmission which was sent presumably to his own government.

KIRK: Thank you Mr. Spock,... and agreed,... on the first part of your hypothesis,... provided,... there ACTUALLY is a crippled Klingon vessel out there,.... somewhere,... and a Romulan Armada,... assist Lieutenant Uhura in determining the source and location of that distress call.

Stiles: Begging the Captain's pardon sir, and Mr. Spock's, both times Mr. Spock claimed he noticed a Romulan fleet, nothing came up on our boards down here; that's what I was trying to tell you earlier, sir.

KIRK: Are you suggesting Sensor malfunction,... exclusive of Mr. Spock's station,... or some other explanation, Mr. Stiles?
.

SPOCK:
Captain, Mr. Stiles is quite correct; my knowledge of the whereabouts of the Romulan fleet did not come from our sensors, but form a more...internal source.

The other thread wasn't stupid. I was unhappy at all of the hotlinking and very unhappy that people didn't follow the rules. I suspect most here have never even read them.

I had complaints about the hotlinking and had to go through all of the pictures. This newer system is not as friendly in that respect as the old one used to be, I have to strip out the photo where in the old system, I could just turn them into a link.

Pretty much, hotlinking is frowned upon online all over and websites whose photos are hotlinked get really annoyed.

I'm hot-tempered, which is no news to anyone who has known me on here for the past 12 years. As I'm in my 50s, I doubt that'll change anytime soon. I do have other good qualities and while I may express crankiness from time to time, I do my best to run a good board.

But I didn't mean to express disgust with the thread topic, merely the volume of work necessary through what I saw as neglect to follow the rules.

I like you guys. But I'm human. If you're looking for perfection, you're on the wrong board. ;)

And the "bite me?" It's a JOKE, people, kind of a catchphrase, those who know me well know that when they try to get my goat for fun (a favorite pursuit of some of my friends, as I must give a good reaction or something), I usually come back with this. I can't believe someone would be offended by it. Perhaps I should change it to "It's a dull person who has no enemies." Joke. ;) I know....but after so long online, I can't help but be absurd at times.

Anyhow, carry on with the (not stupid) thread. Stupid is giving people ammunition to beat me over the head which I did, LOL. I should really avoid that, you know?

SPOCK: Captain, it is difficult to explain: millennia ago, when Vulcan was still warlike and barbaric, we used a telepathic war cry as a means of expressing our bloodlust when about to conquer an enemy--these facilitated signaling troops from great distances on Vulcan that it was time to attack--we called it...Karia-foria…the call to arms; it hasn`t been perceived by a living Vulcan for dozens of centuries until today, when I felt it twice from the Romulans... evidently the cultural parallels between Vulcans and Romulans are greater than I had originally suspected.

KIRK: I see,... but Spock,I,... I cannot command a Starship on,... on Intuitions,... and how can this account for your knowledge of the position and actions a Romulan Armada,... which is not even in our Sensor range?

.

SPOCK: The Karia-foria should not be transmittable beyond more than a few hundred kilometers, and certainly not into open space; but Jim, I know what I sensed...somehow the Romulans have managed to intensify the range of the Karia-foria so that it can cross over light years of space; this means they can orchestrate and coordinate mass attacks at various points throughout the galaxy much quicker than through conventional communication methods...at present, they seem to be targeting the Klingons, but why?

KIRK: We don't know that yet Mr. Spock,... we need FACTS!,... I want the source and location of that Klingon distress signal nailed down,... and I want it nailed down fast!,... I am going to Sickbay,... inform me when you and Lt. Uhura have the information on the Klingon signal,... and Spock,... let me know if you have any more,... sense anything else.
