That Mitchell & Webb Look Series 4

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
David Mitchell and Robert Webb are back for a fourth series of their brainy but daft sketch show.
Find out the correct but confusing way to talk to Caesar; there's a great new way to spot the emotional subtext in TV drama; and there's a man who is very angry about grammar - and he has a gun. Plus there's a chance to meet David's surprising new wife.

Heads up for anyone who's interest, a new series of Mitchell and Webb starts tomorrow night at 9 on BBC 2 and 10 on BBC HD.

^Yeah I'm about the same, oh and the Mentalist but thats about all I'm watching religiously!

Hmm...

Well I liked the pre-title sequence. Previously on Mitchell and Webb...some funny stuff!

I think it says something when they basically rip off a Little Britain sketch but make it more boring and less funny (and in fact less clever) than Lucas and Walliams would have (come on guys you're better than that!)

I did like the Henimore gag, and the post apocolyptic quiz, and the pedantic businessman with a gun (and Keely Hawes) but too many bits fell flat for me.

Man walks into a shop asking for something they don't have, shopkeeper cobbles what he wants togeather from other things! All it was missing was Mitchell shouting to Murial in the back...

That wasn't how the Little Britain one worked though, the guy would come in ask for something and then just make it more and more ridiculous, this sketch was different enough that I didn't even see a comparison until you mentioned one.

This is the laboratoire Garnier! This is no place for curing things and advancing science! *hair* had me in stitches.

Remain Indoors is still the best thing of the lot though.

Oh God! Knew I'd forgotten something! For me the Laboritoire Garnier sketch was the funniest thing of all (so hilarious I forgot it!) It was brilliant though, really!

Are people still watching? ;)

I thought last night's was a return to form. The Neil Armstrong joke was very clever and left field and showed the pair of them at their best. The stay in doors bit was very funny as well.

Yeah, a cracking show this week!

Loved the "GET IT OFF ME!" Day-Lewisesque 'tache.

:D

Yeah the previous one wasn't so great. This week's was top notch though.

Have you seen the football-related extras on the Red button or BBC website as well?

That last sketch started off quite funny, with the rather obvious joke about the presenter talking over the contestants and taking such a long time to set up the question. (Although at first I though that Numberwang was back:lol:). Towards the end it got quite horrific...

That's not to mention the Quiz, and you should not mention the quiz. To be honest its starting to get quite depressing and less funny each time. I suppose that's the genius of M&W, they set us up with harmless stereotypical sketches (get me hennimore) aid some delightful nonsense (actor with a mustache phobia) and then hit us with some disturbing dark comedy.

It is one my favorite shows. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go back in doors by zaquion!

Well horror and comedy are two sides of the same coin...more like this, less "and next week at the antiques shop" please.

That said the really small office was funny, especially the red button bits!

What's with the depressing endings they've been going with this series? I think they're good but they're bloody depressing for a comedy show.

I noticed that too. Something tells me that their little behind the scenes bit about "diversifying" may be more than just a skit, and thats what the depressing endings are about.

Also, the BSG piss take was simple, but funny. I was surprised how directly referential to BSG it became, what with toasters and all that :P
