If Left 4 Dead is in the clearance bin for the same reason it is over here, I think it's probably something to do with them chucking out copies of the original release to make room for the Game of the Year edition which most places over here are selling at full price.

That's exactly it. The GOTY edition was up with all the other more recent releases for $60.

The individual stores put certain games on clearance as they make room for new arrivals, it's different at each store. You just have to go in there and check the clearance section (usually the back end of a row in the corner of the store).

I preferred their Trek DVD prices (at least local). At my local target I bought all of the remasted TOS and all but one season of TNG. My final price: $95.40.

Why? They mislabelled the Star Trek DVDs. The box sets of the seasons were $9.99

^ Sorry to say - if this was meant for me - that I ruined it for people. Not long after I left I went back to see if it was still set up like that and scanned the barcode at one of those little readers near the DVD screeners for the price. It came up as $44.99

Wow, it sounds like I really should make more of an effort to check out my Target. Are these things marked with the discounted price or do I have to test scan everything to find my prize?

They put little red price stickers on them with the new price, however if it's been at that price for a couple weeks you should scan it because often the price drops further and they don't bother putting a new sticker on it.
