But I spent untold hours programming Text Games with a book on making games in BASIC, entering them line by line and getting them to work, eventually dabbling at my own creations. It's all about the random number generator.

Yes those DATA staments that could define the map flow, and whatever it was to define the equipment strengths. I was more into graphics and sound, and the actual writing.
This thread is giving me the itch. I've seen some really funny Trek based games out there that are little more than a text game with graphics/mouse.
