Test Your Trivia Knowledge...

Spock's Barber

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
A whole thread dedicated to TOS trivia....if it survives. Here goes nothing.

What background actor played 2 separate aliens in the same episode? Hint: There was no heavy makeup that disguised his whole face. That's 2 hints; it was a male actor.

My mystery dude was in a 3rd season episode. He played 2 separate non-speaking characters. I guess the director thought no one would notice.

Is it an episode with Scotty's dark greasy hair or his grey flat top?
JB

Scotty's hair is combed back.

Mystery dude is:

3rd season
Background/supporting actor
2 different Alien men
Non/Speaking part
Different clothing
No heavy alien makeup. He is recognizable in both roles.

And you said ALIENS, amirite? Meaning, you don't count human characters? Because I was thinking Frank da Vinci in "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" (played two different humans).

(Originally I thought you meant Ian Wolfe as Mr. Atoz and his duplicates, but that doesn't count since the other Atozes are androids, and are specifically said to be copies of the same character)

Good guess. The mystery dude is 2 separate aliens/humanoids but same species. No duplicates. He never speaks in this episode. I noticed him after watching the episode numerous times. I think the director just used him for 2 different roles in the same episode because he was available. I don't know. He was very briefly a member of the Enterprise/2nd season/1 episode and he did speak. He was not a regular extra like Frank da Vinci, Eddie Paskey or Bill Blackburn. Primarily, he seemed to be a stuntman/tough guy.

Paul Baxley? I know he spoke in "TTWT", and was also in "The Apple", but not sure as two roles...

Regardless, how are you sure it is two aliens and not he same one in two different scenes?

OK, I guess if you answered my Q about HOW you are so sure it is two different aliens, it might give things away. But if its clearly the same actor as you say, and he is playing the same species in both scenes, there must be some reason for you to think it is two different characters. Based on that, I am thinking 2 Morg in Spock's Brain, one of the "wild" ones encountered on the surface and one of the "tamed" underground Morgs.

Using the google machine. I noted Pete Kellet, who played a Morg guard, also played alt-Kirk's personal guard in "Mirror, Mirror". He is not credited as playing another Morg in Spock's Brain, but perhaps you have identified him as one of the uncredited surface creatures?

Also, Scotty's hair IS combed back in Spock's Brain. ;)

Having put far too much time into this guess, I think, if wrong, I will give up! :)

Bingo. Pete Kellet plays the blond haired Morg on the surface of Sigma Draconis 7 and of course he also plays the Morg inside the planet who stops Kirk from retrieving his communicator.

Hmmm; the problem with my having being right is that I will now be encouraged to waste..'scuse me, spend more time thinking about the next Q...

Which TOS stuntman was also the stunt double for Burt Ward, a.k.a Robin the Boy Wonder, in the original Batman tv series?

BTW, RIP Adam West.
