That's absolutely right. Most people are decent and should not feel the need to apologize for (or feel ashamed about) terrorists who use their religion or country as an excuse for their crimes. The responsibility lies with the terrorists and the terrorist organizations alone.

Like many things in life it's all about power and influence. People get a small degree of power, want more power, misuse the influence they have in order to gain more power. In there normal people have their belief twisted, violent people can be used as weapons, disenfranchised people can have their world view twisted in to thinking this is all they can do in order they get listened to. It's very complicated, very difficult socioeconomic problem compounded by politics and power plays.

The weak will always desire power and the strong will always oppress the weak.
