TERROR AT 38,000 FEET!!!

Narcissism is rather unbecoming.

Excuse me? :wtf: Why would asking people to go back on topic- Squiggy, make me narcissistic? I know english is not my first language, but I thought I had a better grasp than that.

It's possible he misread your post. What you said was the exact opposite of narcissism. So I wonder if he read it as "This thread was funnier when it was about me" rather than "wasn't about me".

(either way, your English is fine :) )

Maybe... thanks :)

I wish I was cooler than to let comments like that get to me. *shrugs and goes to work instead*

Narcissism is rather unbecoming.

I'm not sure if this was directed at Aurian (in which case it wouldn't make any sense since there was no narcissism in the post you pointed at) or at the subject of this thread, but it seems like we keep having to deal with the little snide or inappropriate comments you've been making quite a bit lately. So, how about knocking it off, okay?

Anybody heard anything more on what might have caused the hole, or what specifically it was that tore open? It's a little difficult to tell from some of the pictures, but it looks to me like it was only the outer skin layer that opened up in between the skin doublers, and none of the stringers or frames were damaged.

It's only been a couple of days, a full NTSB investigation will likely take a bit longer than that. ;) Right now signs are pointing at metal fatigue, something Southwest has been dinged for recently.

Yeah, I realize the investigation will take quite a while, but you usually never hear any follow-up stories in the news about it.

I will say that whatever the cause of the breach, it sounds like the skin failed as originally designed to. I think about a 1x1 section which is in line with the football size description. Thankfully not another 737 convertible manifested itself.

Wrapping this thread up...
