TerranBBS? Anyone remember them?

I'm an oooooooold member and used to mod over at Terran. Just popped over to say hi but it's saying I'm permebanned. Actually it says my IP is permabanned which is weird since I'm logging in from work and no one's ever logged in via this IP before...

Definitely shouldn't be since my only sin has been not visiting in a good few years. Just wondered if they've made it 'members only' and you can only see the forums if you're not banned?

I just went there and found out that I was also permabanned. When I last logged in, several years ago, I lived at a different address, had a different computer and a different ISP.

I post there every day. If your ISP is banned, it probably has something to do with spambots. I'll mention it to Santaman later this evening when I stop by.

Yeah, Santaman has a habit of banning whole first-level IPs (i.e. the first set of numbers in the IP address). He's caught me quite a few times because "Oh, the 61 IP range is normally Russia!"... and the UK, and many other European countries!

This is why blanket IP bans suck.

I'll look into it, also, after a few years without use accounts are set to inactive by the board software, will look into that as well.. as for banning ISP's.. I admit using a big hammer..
I can't do much at the moment, I'm using a rather obsolete pad which makes admin work almost impossible...

I thought about trying to see if an active for me still exists, but it looks like the member list is blocked from external viewing and there's no way I'd be able to figure out a password from that long ago.

I've not been to TK in months, perhaps more than a year. All of the old school people minus MM were gone. I look at Terran, but it's pretty quiet.

I don't miss the wild and crazy days. I like a little boredom.

I was on terranbbs.com about 10 years ago then one day it went dark. Years later I found a terranbbs.net but it didn't seem like the same people even if some of the forums had the same name

It did. I was there then. Damned if I can remember the name now. It might have had "talk" in it.
