Terminators vs. Transformers: F*** yeah!

IO9 is reporting that Michael Bay has posted on his own board he'd love to see a Terminator and Transformers showdown. Now we all know it isn't going to happen in a million years, but with Hollywood running out of ideas as fast as The Flash running around the world, this idea needs to come to the big screen! Not only would I love to see it, but a cross franchise thingamagik needs to happen beyond the realm of comic books. There were several Super/Batman vs Predator comics back in the late 90's and a Super+Batman vs. Aliens/Predator a couple of years back. Both were quite enjoyable. If only a geek Hollywood studio head would take it within himself to bring these two franchises together, it would become one hell of a movie!

Well Terminators have taken on Aliens, Predators, Superman so its not that far out there a possibility. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the newer models from Salvation and The Sarah Connor Chronicles go up against the Transformers.

Well from some clips i saw of the new Terminator movie it looks like they have a terminator about the size of a combiner (5 smaller robots that form 1 larger one) so maybe they could get in a fight...
So who would win?

I think your missing the point.

TERMINATORS ARE TRANSFORMERS

They kill off the humans, enslave them, build a cyber planet and then the rest is history,

That is the Harbinger. It was designed to capture humans and take them to Skynet Work Camps. On TSCC it's called an Ogre.

As soon as I saw this thread I figured that a Terminator/Transformer fight would be pretty quick. Just have the autobots step on them. On purpose, or by accident... Either way...

T-1000's would probably be harder to kill. They might require repeated stepping on.

i thought it was called a 'Harvester'?

oh, and the Transformers would step all over the Terminators. Literally.

Terminator would easily lend itself to becoming a crossover franchise. All you gotta do is say that time travel errors may shift someone to alternate universes. Finding no John Connor to kill, the robot gets to creating Skynet in whatever world he's in, and bringing about the only future he knows and loves. Third trilogy, maybe? :)

^ They've somewhat shown this on TSCC.

In Season 2's Self Made Man a temporal malfunction caused a Terminator to be sent back to the 1920s. Because of his beam in there was an incident that resulted in the death of a figure that was important to an aspect of his mission. The Terminator altered its protocols to accomplish its mission parameters - including taking over the role that the man he killed would play in the creation of the site where the mission was to take place.
