Terminator: TSCC - What News?

Just some basics - not going into the actual story ideas because I'm not sure how far I'd be allowed to go.

- John is forced to deal with a reality where he never existed in the Resistance in any form.

- John struggles to relate to Allison knowing her ultimate fate.

- Skynet is literally on the brink of destroying all humans with the Resistance only having a literal handful of members.

After an immensely disappointing second season, I ended up not really caring about its cancellation. I loved Salvation, though!

^ No, but a lot of people didn't like it and started to bail on it with the Sarah goes crazy storyline.

Oddly enough the Salvation series has also been cancelled. The new rumors floating around are that they'll be rebooting the series again with a remake of The Terminator. But its just a rumor.

^ Bale said in an interview he's been let out of his contract and isn't sure there are plans for any more films in the Salvation series. The Terminator rumor I heard from a member of the production staff I've been friends with. Personally I doubt it though.

Liked TSCC, annoyed at ending. Wanted to see more-especially after that ending. Had lots of questions-most caused by the ending. Noticing a theme here?

Can you link? I can't find any reference to that anywhere. And whilst badly reviewed with an unimpressive US performance, at nearly 330 million worldwide it's doing almost as well as Star Trek, seems premature to be canceling it.

Yeah... it does seem odd they'd throw it all away now. The show, maybe, cuz it's FOX, but movies?

I would be very pissed if they didn't finish the Salvation trilogy! They already green-lit the sequel before the first one came out, but they also did that with Narnia 3 and later canceled it. I want to see exactly how John Connor defeats Skynet, dammit!

Season three would've ended with both Kyle and Derek Reese dying, so John has to go back in time pretending to be Kyle so he can impregnate his mother with himself.

CinemaSpy. He mentions that he's not contracted for any additional films in the series (McG reported that he had been contracted for 3).

As I said about the reboot - it came from a member of the production staff that I had spoke with (same one that let me see the film early actually).

Warner Brothers - the domestic producer who provided a large percentage of the budget for TS - is also very pissed about the amount of money that it brought in domestic. They make nothing from overseas sales since they're held by Sony.

Not to sound like an ass, but who cares? The show was canceled and TPTB have said outright that there will be no continuation to it in other media.

On a related note, how do you know the production people on shows like this?

Unfortunately they left T:S pretty open-ended, which is a concern. It was a good movie IMO, but not the best that could have been done with the Future War idea.

I have degrees in international marketing and have worked with them in the past.

To put it simply: I don't go in depth because, despite the show not continuing, I don't want sued and they do visit these boards from time to time.

SCC season 2 was hit and miss for me. I tried really hard to care because I enjoyed season one so much. I stuck with it and really loved that final scene. It had so much damn potential. Sad that's it's gone.

I started to lose interest during the Sarah goes nuts phase, but it got really good again afterwards and the last few eps were brilliant!

I think if s2 had had the same limited number of eps as s1 then it would have been just as good, they just had to pad too much.

Hmm, I don't really know, but at a guess i'd say this was confusion over whether he was contracted for 3 films in the first place. I've seen it reported tht he was, but i've also seen it reported that they had to jump through hoops to get him to sign for T4, being one of the most popular actors in the world.

Since the article doesn't explicitly state that he was let out of the contract, and that he could still do another movie if the script was good, I think it is more likely that the contract never existed or that he always had the option to refuse the script.
