Terminator Genisys..Official Trailer

I don't get that particular criticism. It's not a twist, and nothing is spoiled in the trailer, if it is the main plot.

It's not a twist, it's a plot-point. And it can be considered a spoiler even if it happens only 20 minutes into the film. They chose to give it away, some people don't like that and some people do. 'Tis what it is.

So it's not much different than the trailer to T2 where it's spoiled that Arnie is the good guy this time? You would've figured that out in 20 minutes too if all the promotion for that movie didn't put that out there beforehand. It wasn't really that much of a spoiler then.

Given that the T-800 being good is the whole point of Terminator 2, it wasn't a spoiler at all (that's also why Terminator 3 sucks: "Arnold is the good guy, again."). And now the whole point is that something is wrong with John Connor (and that the timeline has been completely fucked up).

I actually like the story of T5. But I HATE, HATE, HATE the casting. Holy fuck, I haven't seen a movie that is as badly miscast as this one.

So if Skynet has...

a Terminator which is a swarm of nanobots

... why did it still lose? Something like that would have destroyed the human resistance in days, if not sooner.

Oh well. As for the lame 'plot point' introduced in the latest spoilers, the trailers do hold out hope that it can be reversed. Kinda looking forward to seeing how they pull THAT off.

I thought that one thing Salvation did really well was the casting of Anton Yelchin as Reese. He was really convincing as a young Michael Biehn, even did that thing Biehn does where he slightly talks through his teeth. But the charisma-vacuum that is Jay Courtney? A refugee from a post-apocalyptic future who looks like he follows the diet and gym regimen of a professional athlete? Yuk!

Yeah, the casting of this movie? Yeesh. Courtney is the obvious pick to lambast because he just seems to suck, but I think both of the Clarke's aren't the best suited to these types of roles either. Jason doesn't look like the tough type of John we've seen before (Bale is a lot better there), and Emilia is probably one of the weakest actresses in Game of Thrones.

I'm guessing it's going to be that they had to have John do the whole thing with Kyle so that he ends up being born and that Skynet ends up being created, despite that this doesn't really make any sense. I'm guessing that trying to make any real sense out of this movie is going to be difficult.

Skynet, for being the most intelligent being in the world, built from scratch to literally be the worlds most efficient war machine, running entire military industrial complexes of nations all at once, when it comes to actual combat, is fucking useless.

No wonder they tried to delete it, it failed it's one and only actual purpose completely. Just walking in and shooting up the place because it's lost all sense of purpose or reason.

If it could just do it's job, J-Day would never have happened.

Man, I really like Terminator a lot. It's probably one of my most favorite things next to Star Trek. But why does it seem like they can do no good? My theory is that the first was a really good movie that didn't need a sequel. Yes, T2 was highly entertaining, but only through the work of James Cameron and all the cutting edge stuff for the time. It only paved the way for a lot of mediocrity.

.

Well, maybe it's because the first movie was a blending of two Outer Limits episodes and every movie after was a rehash of the first with slight alterations.

Is just kind of hilariously depressing. The former looks like a guy I'd die in battle for; the latter looks like a baby wearing one of those wound kits you get at Halloween stores.

I only just realised that's the guy from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I thought he was good in that, at least.

I'll watch this film just for the lulz, as they say, but I'm not holding out any hope of it actually being good. Jai Courtney sucks in everything I've seen him in, and the story just sounds like bad fan fiction.

... and Emilia is probably one of the weakest actresses in Game of Thrones.

I like her quite a bit there, I think she pretty much nails the character, but as Sarah Connor... :wtf: WTF?
And the rest... whoever was in charge of casting here was either insane, on drugs, both or the biggest troll in the history of the industry.

I'm smuggling in a snack size bag of chocolate with nuts and one of Junior Mints. I'm buying a pail of popcorn and a jug of Diet Coke, then I'm checking my brain at the door and settling in for a couple hours of gorging on chocolate and popcorn and eye-popping CGI candy.

P.S. I was only joking about the "diet" Coke, it'll be full calorie.

Yeah, I liked Jason Clarke in the Apes movie, but he fit the part that he was cast in there. He doesn't seem right as John Connor, and Timby nailed it with the picture there.

Sarah and Daenerys are basically the same type of character though. A woman who starts off innocent and naive who learns to become a fierce, strong military leader. I don't think it's too far of a stretch really.

On Thrones, I don't know what it is about her exactly, but her acting just seems kinda blah sometimes. Maybe it's just that she pales in comparison to a lot of the other great actors and actresses on the show.

I think it's how they write the character - they keep telling us she is awesome but the character really seems to do very little and generally is surrounded by characters who's only purpose is to tell us how awesome she is.

Even Harlan himself says that Demon With A Glass Hand has nothing to do with The Terminator. It was just the bits from Soldier that stuck in his craw.

My link didn't work right, I had Outer link to Soldier and Limits link to Demon with a glass hand.

This trailer explains things a bit more.
