Terminator Genisys..Official Trailer

I don't give two shits if humanity is fighting for its very survival, you DO NOT SKIP CHEST OR LEG DAY! TAKE YOUR SUPPLEMENTS!

I'm totatlly giving this movie a chance despite the fact that Jai Courtney does squat as an actor. He is a piece of cardboard.

Boy, that new trailer sure was a wet blanket over what little enthusiasm I had for this one. I still want to be hopeful, I want it to be good...but it's looking unlikely.

I haven't seen him act with an Australian accent, barely seen him act with a fake American Accent, but have you seen him act without the yank accent( one hand tied behind his back)?

The movie's fine, quit trying to come up with explanations for how there could possibly be no movie :p pissed about the spoiler though. Probably not a HUGE one but one I could have done without seeing.

This just confirms I need to continue not watching any extra material about Age of Ultron...

I'm not going to lie, I watched the trailer two more times and I'm stoked about this movie. It would've been easy and even mildly successful to just remake the original Terminator with Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney, but to make John Connor the villain just sends shivers down my spine.

They're not COMPLETELY ruining the character. Everything Reese says about John is true... he does end up the savior of humanity. He teaches them how to fight, to smash those metal motherfuckers into junk. He brings humanity back from the brink. All this still happens. It just goes to shit after Skynet's beaten.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain." -Harvey Dent

I was pretty stoked by the first trailer.

This trailer, however, gave too much away. I feel like I don't even need to watch the movie anymore.

Yeah it's annoying that they seemingly gave away such a huge spoiler, but to be fair this was probably going to be a really cheesy and ridiculous movie anyway, so it's probably not worth getting too upset over.

It would be one thing to hint at the spoiler or reveal it very quickly. But here they revealed the spoiler, continued talking about the spoiler, and then kept talking about the damn spoiler! I felt like I wasn't watching a trailer so much as I was watching a summary of the whole plot.

And the crazy thing is, is it doesn't look like the kind of twist that would be revealed early on or in the first 20 minutes (like Arnold being a good guy in T2). It really seems like the kind of thing that would take a while to build and set up first.

Which is too bad, because it does actually seem like a pretty cool twist (and not one I think I've ever heard suggested before).

The thing about John Connor being a Terminator isn't exactly a new idea. The very same thing was planned with Terminator Salvation, but written out at the last minute, partly because of fan backlash on the internet over leaked scripts. Also because it was just a terrible ending.

And John doesn't really seem like a savior of humanity if Skynet is just letting him do everything in order to ensure that it is created.

Ah, so it's the first act plot twist. :)

From the first trailer, I expected the reveal that Sarah Connor had her own T-800 would be the first act plot twist.

Matt Smith's character, posing as a Resistance soldier is the T-5000 -- a physical manifestation of Skynet made up of nanobots. When Connor and the Resistance send Reese back in time, the T-5000 reveals itself as a cloud of nano-terminators and kills everyone in the room except Connor, who he half-infects and makes a zombie nano-terminator himself; Reese watches Connor get turned into a Terminator from the inside out as he's beginning to be sent through time.

The main villain of the entire story is Connor the zombie nano-terminator. The trailer even spoils how they defeat Connor, using the MRI machine they're diagnosing Sarah's cancer with.

The film ends with Sarah and Kyle riding off into the sunset together with her not pregnant, in an attempt to break the cycle.

So basically Matt Smith is playing the most successful Terminator ever, aslo Skynet seems to be invoking "if you want it done right do it yourself"

Not quite.

Smith's character is literally the manifestation of Skynet. It is Skynet in human form.

In other words Skynet finally got tired of its minions always screwing up.

Salvation was supposed to make John Connor a terminator after the human form dies at the end of the movie. People thought it was dumb so they redid it.
