I didn't get to see this episode because our local FOX station had problems with the main network feed. My DVR recorded 10 minutes of show and 50 minutes of test pattern. This happen to anyone else or was it just limited to the Buffalo, NY area? Anyway, I've obtained a copy from alternate sources and will be watching tonight when I get home from work. Hope it's a good one.....

I'm from the Rochester NY area and their affiliates broadcast was just fine. Glad you could catch it on-line or some other way.:)

Cam really does act like she has Asperger's Syndrome sometimes...

I wonder, if Cam had been an unattractive gal(er, robot) would the wheelchair guy even had bothered to put up with her odd requests & weird behavior in the first place, hmm?

Recommend: Fox's online site and not... other means... or other means too. We could use the views.

Ratings are in. We were up a million viewers from last week!

Simply the best episode this season. However I did not like the fight at the end after all that quizzing and wonderful analysis and even thinking that the returned to it's super stars of od wrestling form. Kinda like the Vampire who just showed up as a token kung fu extra in the episode of Buffy where her mom died.

Argh, i fell asleep and missed it last night!

Did manage to procure it by other means and found it as entertaining as always. Seriously good shit! I'm very happy to know ratings are up and hope that they keep going up and earn this fantastic show another season. It deserves it.

We got a really great episode last night, easily one of the best so far.

I loved seeing Cameron visiting the library at night, seeing lots of interaction with someone who doesn't know what she is, and the mystery they had to solve.

Also a Terminator robbing a bank with a Tommy Gun? I just wish that scene had been longer. :techman:

Agreed. I gave it an excellent. I think Cameron is developing empathy and a sense of caring for humans. Her development in this episode was outstanding. I really enjoyed the storyline with the Terminator who missed his mark jumping back in time.

Do we know yet if hulu.com views count?

Excellent! Maybe last week was just a Thanksgiving blip.

That had First Contact Picard written all over it! ;)

Cool! I have family that lives in Rye, NY. I use to dream of living there but the costs of homes are insane nowadays.

Personally I liked the atmosphere of the town. I heard things have been going down hill apparently with more crime and snotty rich kids.

It was almost like a conspiracy when all the kids would go to camp at the same time in the summer.

I really liked this episode and the "terminator lost in time" aspect. Skynet screwed up, forcing Flappernator to restore the time line so that he could carry out his mission. I particularly liked Cameron finding him inside the wall, complete with zoot suit and Tommy Gun.

Even better was how Cameron shows for the first time genuine caring when she reveals the return of Eric's cancer, but is rebuffed. She also seemed hurt when he understandably became upset at her. Summer Glau's doing a great job with these emotional nuances that drive Cameron's character development. I'm also intrigued by the lingering effects of the chip damage; it's suggested that Cameron may consider herself a danger and wish to "self terminate."
I agree, Cameron did show genuine concern (at least with the cancer thing, if not already before with her apology for breaking in the locked part) for Eric and while she did move on at the end, I don't think she has forgotten Eric or stopped caring about him - but she still has a mission to accomplish, I suppose, or perhaps she simply likes to get knowledge for its own sake. Good suggestion that Cameron may be considering self-termination; I hope Eric did not kill himself. It does look like he believed Cameron, so hopefully he went to his doctor. I would like to see him again, or at least hear him referenced like they did with Charlie in this episode.

This show is excellent with character development, and it keeps an eye on its continuity, unlike BSG.

I also enjoyed the fact that Cameron was clearly pissed that the Connors thought she could do the laundry for them.
Yes, that was a nice touch. Apparently, the sophisticated killer robot views the laundry as being below her dignity. Allthough, the final scene showed that Cameron did the laundry, anyway. And she will never stop, till it's clean!

She probably does have Asperger Syndrome, sort of. She still doesn't understand humans very well, doesn't always get the nuances. But she was still cute with him. I think the guy would have befriended her anyway, I don't think he gets much company, in the state he's in. And he seems to be as fascinated by books/knowledge as Cameron is.

Splendid! :techman:

Voted excellent.

But was she really caring for Eric rather than getting some practical experience for dealing with Sarah and her cancer in the next few years?

On entertainment tonight, there was a teaser to the trailer to T4, they will be showing it on Tuesday.....Looks fu*****.....................AWESOME!!

I think so, yes. Cameron is deliberately written to be ambiguous, though, so you can interpret things pretty much the way you want.

This is what producer Zack Stentz wrote on a TSCC forum:
Is Cameron strictly utilitarian and mission-oriented in her approach to humans, or does she actually "feel" attachment to certain people? Is she essentially static, or evolving in response to external stimuli? Does she simply mimic emotional responses, or is she simulating emotions enough times so that she's beginning to internalize them? These issues all fascinate us, and we're more interested in exploring them and asking questions that provoke thought and discussion than providing pat answers. And I think that makes Cameron more interesting and dynamic character than simply stating "she's an unfeeling machine" or "awwww, she wants to become more human."

One credit I give the writers of this show is that the machines are machines. They are more basic than Data, of Star Trek in that when confronted with conflicting or confusing information, they take pause to analyze and form a course of action. Their reactions (facial and bodily) speak volumes of what is occurring in their programming during that pregnant pause.

You know, I watch this show faithfully every week. I enjoy it every week. But I can't hold a thing in my head from one week to the next. I read these threads, and you guys all refer to things that are all tying together, and I tell myself to just take your word for it, because more often than not, I don't remember what in the world you're referring to. I think I'm going to have to invest in the DVDs and have a marathon. Then maybe I'll start remembering these things! ;)
