I still feel like the T-1000 (or 1001) is basically ensuring that Skynet does indeed exist. All of her actions so far (minus her sending Ellison on errands to find other terminators) point to her trying to either speed up the creation of Skynet or ensure that it does actually come into existence. I don't believe there has been enough evidence on the show so far to support her going rogue.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

If the shrink is pivotal in helping T-1000 with her AI thingy, and a regular terminator was sent back in time to kill him, it give credence to anyone who says she's a rogue terminator. Maybe she's creating her own Skynet that's a threat somehow to the other Skynet.

On a side note, is it possible that Skynet gets more powerful every time Judgment Day is delayed? Because with how fast our technology is growing, the later they go online, the more stronger they are right off the bat. And considering the growing tech, Judgment Day seems inevitable.

the receptionist had to be eliminated to get closer to the doctor

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

I think the only thing that can stop the terminator is CTU. They're there when all the terrorist plots keep on targeting LA and the terminators keep getting sent to LA too.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

I think the redhead was there to kill the doctor or use her position as the secretary to stop him from helping weaver. I mean she didnt have to kill the secretary but she did...to replace her or infiltrate the position. That also explains why she stopped fighting in the elevator. It would have severely blown her cover as the new secretary if she was involved in a building decimating fight.
I also think that Weaver T1001 is trying to develop a more advanced Skynet based on her and the T-1000's. Shes doing it in secret and so far hasnt alerted the normal skynet of what she is doing. That also might explain why amazon was sent. Maybe they are catching on.
I too am glad to see that Fatty wasnt in this episode.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

Recreation time travel and random minor-threat terminators of the week are really hurting this show. Is it true the suits up top wanted to make this show more episodic?

The "suits up top" are Fox executives.

What do YOU think?

;)

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

I also liked how the T1000 in this episode seems to be actually trying to be a better mother to her "daughter". Could it be possible that she may actually begin to love her like her own daughter? That would be an interesting development.

I am also curious as to what Derek's gf is really up to. It does indeed sound like she is on her own mission and could have indeed gone rogue.

I enjoyed the whole PTSD aspect of this episode. Indeed it only makes sense considering how jacked up the future is. I mean imagine basically being scared your whole life that you were gonna die, eventually that would make anyone crack.

I liked the episode. Gave it an above average. Not the best, but interesting plot developments. This seemed like a crux-of-time moment for all the factions involved strangely enough, but they simply missed one another all together (except for Cameron and the the crazy red head) I think the crappy Terminator of the week was simply because it was assumed to be a quick and easy job. That is why Cameron was able to make short work of her. Still, I liked her portrayal. Very creepy, and she breaks down well for easy storage!

I think it's funny the T-1000 missed John entirely because she is bad mother who didn't even care that a strange young man was tying the little girl's shoes. If John hadn't pulled the listening tap Cameron wouldn't have stopped the doctor's terminator, but they also now have no idea that Mommy-Termmy is working with the doctor and still have no idea what his role is in all of this. T-1000's role just got a lot more murky.

Derek must have really been distracted if he didn't see those pictures just lying out on the floor like that. I wonder how nervous she was the whole time that he might glance over and see them spread out like that. ;)

All in all, a pretty good episode with a several ships passing in that foggy night with one minor collision and a happy docking.

I really don't think she was sent to kill him - she could have been sent to protect him. Or it's even possible that John sent her back and not Skynet. We really don't know (basically the episode is based on assumptions).

On a side note, is it possible that Skynet gets more powerful every time Judgment Day is delayed? Because with how fast our technology is growing, the later they go online, the more stronger they are right off the bat. And considering the growing tech, Judgment Day seems inevitable.

Yes, this has been explored in the Terminator comics.

Why did it have to kill the chick before taking the car? Why not just steal the car

It's what Terminators do.

Smart Terminators would steal the car without waiting for the owner/witness to come out of the house.

It appeared that she changed into the woman's clothes. The Terminators can tell if clothing is inappropriate for their mission profile (Arnie in T3 when scanning the woman in the bar).

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

Silly theory - the T-1000s are like the Six Cylons of BSG - they just want to get along with the humans.

No - T-1000 Series Terminators are advanced infiltrators (in a way like Six), but they don't usually want to get along with humans. Typically they want to terminate them.

In the series and the Terminator: Expanded Universe there have been rumors of Terminators that want to work with humans to defeat Skynet - they're called Rogues - but they tend to revert to their 'kill all humans' directives.

T-1001's objective hasn't been revealed, but it is looking like she is destined to build Skynet (this has happened before in the novel series Infiltrator).

... and it'll coincide with the video game Lego Terminator!

I would so buy that game.

Thought it was a good episode today, liked the elevator fight and how they stopped when the people got in.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

^just the thought of lego Arnie losing his yellow head has promise :D

So does the T-1000 need the therapist to make her a super duper Viper that she can put the AI into?

and together he and Joe Morton will unite to create the most scientifically advanced car.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

Shirley Manson is really coming into her own. The entire T-1000 plot line, from the daughter, to the child-like AI, to why she would have Agent Ellison as a robot hunter, is quickly becoming the most interesting part of the show.

Instead of being a hokey device, the Connor's in therapy aided in filling out the characters and not ignoring that their situation is extreme and plays havoc with the psyche. The PTS angle was particularly insightful. And even if wasn't at all needed to move the story along, I would have gotten a big kick out of watching the therapist's session with Cameron as he diagnosed her "Asperger's"

Above Average

I was SO excited to see Dorian Harewood guest starring in this episode. I love his presence.

I really wish I could go back and watch all the episodes in order again. I'm so far removed from the Sarkissian thing that tonight's revelation kind of confused me. There have been too many in-and-out characters for me to keep up with. My head is spinning.

But for the first time, I really feel sorry for John. Talk about pressure. I can imagine him thinking, who's to say humanity wouldn't be better off if John Connor were dead? We know that if I live, I lead a rebellion, a huge war where thousands, millions of people die. If I'm not there, maybe someone else will lead and find a way to stop Skynet, one that doesn't involve such a bloody war... And it's not like I don't have easy access to ammunition... But it's an awful risk for a guess, and at the last second, he turns his hand away... but he was so close to pulling that trigger, and that tension's still there in his finger, and...

"I was boiling water. For pasta." :( How can anyone hope to counsel this kid?

I assumed that the reason Skynet wanted to kill that psychologist was because he'd end up working on this AI project... seems kind of counter intuitive at the moment anyway.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

Maybe his work with the AI would be harmful in some way - maybe end up imbuing it with some sort of conscience protocol that would inhibit/delay the development of the ruthless version we all know and fear that is Skynet.

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

Well I still like the show but they need to stop the whole "random people from the future comes here"

It's starting to remind me of that South Park episode where people from the future came here for jobs.

Oh and don't get me started on the asian killing spree. Just whatthe hell is up with that. she got killed in her second scene WTF!!

Oh and not to mention that the Asian in Prison Break ALSO GOT KILLED !!!!!!!!!!

Re: Terminator 206 "The Tower is Tall but the Fall is Short" - Thread<

^ Careful. You're starting to sound like Good Will Riker. I don't think this Jigsaw needs an understudy. :)
