I thought the writers said they weren't turning this show into a Terminator of the week show? So far this season that's exactly what it's been, with the exception of this episode (and I suppose you could argue it actually was a "Terminator of the week" episode.

How so? I think it is unfair to criticse the show for becoming "Terminator of the week". The only two terminators we have seen so far this season that were not around in season 1 are Weaver, who is a recurring charactor so not "...of the week" and the one from the power plant episode, who only played a small part near the end anyway.

John always had help from another Terminator though, except when they (re)captured Cameron in "Samson and Delilah". Outside that, he has always had to run away from Terminators, from the T1000 to Cromartie. Now, he is going to take one of the T888's without Cameron's or Arnie's help (but with Derek's, I suppose).

I think it's cool actually, if John and/or get to destroy a Terminator. It hasn't been done since T1 that a Terminator was taken out without help from other Terminators.
