Temper, temper, mon Capitaine

I'd certainly like to see Q again, but not sure it would be the best idea for the Picard series.

Then again, I liked Picard/Q interactions. Also, I don't think Q, as a character, performed too well without Picard, so if he was to return, it would need to be in this, so I'm rather conflicted.

Perhaps, if the Hobus supernova was actually caused by Q Continuum going kaput...

I can say exactly where I like my Q:
In comics.
In books.
And that's about it.

Q, once again stripped of his powers, is forced to become Picard's roomie. "Queue" The Odd Couple theme.

The only way to improve on that is if they're stuck in space 3 million years from Earth. Unfortunately, Q becomes Lister (carefree) and Picard becomes Rimmer (being bound to regulations, which being senile would get most of them wrong.) I'd watch. Bring in Brent Spiner as Kryten and Terry Farrell as Cat, and voila... :D But the show never felt right without Holly. I suspect Marina Sirtis would do Holly some justice...

I always liked Q. He threw Picard's arrogance and pretentiousness right back in his face at just the right times, and gave the 24th Century shows some much-needed humor and life.

I'd welcome an appearance or even an arc.

If nothing else, if you've not tried watching it, there is a US Red Dwarf pilot - the second pilot attempt, technically - that features her as Cat. She's fantastic...

About 3:25 in is when she's introduced, but the best stuff happens 3:40 through to 5:15.

IMHO, she stole the show - it's almost a shame the 2nd version wasn't picked up. But having said that, watch 0:00-3:24 and/or 5:16/10:37 at your own risk to the health of your heart, brain, and any other organ or set of organs that you cherish...

The problem is: A Q shouldn't age.

Q would feign age just to mock Picard. :D

I have tried watching both US pilots. They make me sad.

I've watched the UK version way too many years and way too many times.

Q could even appear to age himself, to mirror Picard's aging, as a segue to a discussion on mortality. I'd love to see Q again.

I liked Q in the regard that it allowed TNG to tell a variety of "trickster god"-stories, and you only ever needed to suspend your disbelief for one such being. There's not a new Trelane every other season.

And I really like a few completely bonkers high-concepts every once in a while in my science fiction before everything becomes "realistic" same-y and boring...
