They are very peaceful race. though on occasion a "troublesome mind" would be born that would take control of the planet and cause a war with the neighboring planet of the Odib.

You should read the novel, it's by Dave Galanter, and is very good.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may check it out. I have to admit, i've tried reading a few of the novels, but i was never able to get into them. Couldnt really say why though. But i may just give that one a try.

I like that idea of the "troublesome mind" trying to take control. Interesting idea!

There's some Trek novel whose title escapes me, where Spock is living on Earth with some hippies and at one point is holding an infant. Just from the skin contact, he has a low grade telepathic communication with the infant, and thinks how it's uncluttered mind is actually refreshing.

I like that. The uncluttered baby mind part, not the hippie part. Why was Spock living with hippies?

He was kinda "estranged" from Starfleet at the time. I wish I could remember the novel, and I don't think I could find it by flipping through random ones. Anybody else know off the top of their heads?
