Teenage Exorcists!

The Night Stalker: Lady's Perogative, Kolchak investigates a series of odd disappearances at a Clearwater, Florida retirement home, and comes face to face with an ancient Timacua Indian legend come to life. Staring Darren McGavin and introducing Brynne Larson as The Demon Hunter. [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xfl0m6U8IE[/yt]

Our demon hunters on patrol...

I think I can figure out which ones our hypothetical reality show is going to be focus on.

I imagine it won't be the one the Daily Mail failed to focus on. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...irls-spend-time-casting-demons-worldwide.html

The Daily Mail's powers of foresight are indeed remarkable.

I like this line from the "exorcist franchise" operator: "We have found that our female, teenage exorcists are particularly effective at curing the possessed."

Yeah, horny demons can't wait to come out and meet 'em.

I love this part:

Guererro asked Brynne's father Bob Larson, "Is this a healthy thing for your daughter to do at 17?"

Larson responds, "Would I prefer her to be sleeping around, on drugs, getting high or drunk? No. She is doing something to help people."

Dude it's not either or. She can still not skank around and "help people" and not be a exorcist. It's called volunteer at a shelter or a community center.

Bob Larson, a self-taught exorcist, who has conducted thousands of his own exorcisms.

That explains it.

I'm no expert on Exorcisms, of course. But from my understanding, to become an exorcist, from the Church's standpoint, it is quite the process and isn't something you just minor in in priest school. Added on to the fact that the Church tends to be very skeptical to possession claims to begin with. Being a self-taught exorcist strikes me as being like a self-taught aerospace technician.

Why am I thinking, that if you dig below the surface you'll find out these girls are just, basically, playing at being "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" or some such nonsense and really don't by into this nonsense--beyond the attention it gets them?

Long ago, I worked in Japan. A couple of very lovely Japanese ladies walked up to me and started talking to me. Of course, too much of a good thing couldn't last, they soon said they were Mormons and wanted to know, if I'd like to learn more. I figured, a Sunday morning chat over coffee with a couple of lovely ladies, why not. Come Sunday morning, two bright eyed Mormon gentlemen showed up to discuss the Book of Mormon. I told them they'd have done better to have sent the ladies and sent them on their way. True story.

I'm thinking that is wishful thinking. At least one of the girls was raised by somebody who is clearly a fanatic, that kind of programming is hard to overcome. Indeed it would never occur to most who are subjected to it to even try.

Bob Larson, huh ...I used to listen to his talk radio show just to laugh at his insanity. The guy's a total nutburger.

Yeah, my family used to be very big into his schtick. Many of them still are (though my parents no longer care for him, thank goodness).

To quote me girlfriend's aunt, "Never 'eard of 'im." And quite frankly, i don't think i want to either.

EDIT: Blimey! Sounds like one stupid bugger, that for bloody sure. I regret I researched him now. I was right on track with my original post....

Aw, look how full of shit they are. :adore:

It is adorable in a frighteningly deluded kind of way.

Yep. It also doesn't help that I know what kind of moron Bob Larson is, and how he's probably seriously damaged his daughter's view of the world.
I wouldn't worry too much. She's still very young and has plenty of time to grow out of it. Who knows, she might rebel against her crazy father and become an atheist.

This Bob Larson guy looks a bit like the devil, doesn't he? How ironic.

It's possible. I would hope she grows out of it and matures into a thoughtful, intelligent young woman.

You misspelled "douche". :ouch:

Sinister looking douchebag, religiously brainwashed teenage daughter, teenage girl exorcist squad, sounds like a really bad movie plot.
