TDK, nits, what didn't you like about it?

Well, it's not so much that the fire lept out and burnt his face as it is that the fire ignited the gasoline that was already on his face.

That was the whole point of him falling sideways into the gasoline barrel before Batman came - it coated half his face, so when a spark later hit it, it burned exactly half his face.

Just because he says he's a man of his word, doesn't mean it's true. He's a blantat liar - that's the whole point of him giving multiple stories of his origins. It's a message to the audience - this guy is a big liar, you can't really trust ANYTHING he says (whether it's significant or not).
 
The obvious one everybody's going to say: Towards the end of the film, Bale's "Batman voice" went off the rails. Particularly at what should have been a strong dialogue segment like the whole "Gotham showed you what they're really made of" monologue to the Joker.
 
I was not crazy with Gyllenhaal's take on the Rachel Dawes character. I got less of the crusading DA vibe from her and more of a 'ooo men!' kind of vibe.

Some of the scenes echo more of Chicago rather than Gotham.
 
I thought the movie took itself too seriously. With the exception of a few bits with the Joker, there was little levity to the film. Yeah, Batman is "the Dark Knight," but it went too dark, in my opinion.
 
You can't get too dark with Batman; he's a dark character with a dark motive for stopping crime. Everyone knows what happens if you treat Batman too lightly.
 
I was a bit ticked off at the end. The whole spitting blades from the gaunt;lets thing struck em as wrong. Did the miliatary really design bat gauntlets. In BB I got the impression that Bruce based thenm on his swordfighting gauntlets he used while training, and as a result tehy need to be strong enough to hook a weapon. The new ones are silly and I can't imagine that Fox would have had them lyingaround. And he used them to take down the Joker

Maybe Fox designed them for Bruce? It's possible that he eventually ran out of military prototypes and had to modify or create a few things for Batman.
 
Well, it's obvious that Fox knows Bruce is Batman. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that he designed some things specifically for Bruce during The Dark Knight, which is the impression I got from Bruce going up to Lucius to say, "I need a new suit", and Lucius responding with, "I'll see what I can do".
