And no, I wasn't kidding about Transformers. I really do like it that much. I don't buy into the Michael Bay hate, and I regard Optimus Prime as one of the greatest heroes I've ever seen in a SF film. So there.

And no, I wasn't kidding about Transformers. I really do like it that much. I don't buy into the Michael Bay hate, and I regard Optimus Prime as one of the greatest heroes I've ever seen in a SF film. So there.

I almost used your choices. And I agree with you about Transformers... that movie was for me what Avengers was for most people, an awesome movie ride, where the effects and characters are awesome. Optimus Prime has always been my hero growing up and the film did him so right. The movie is just frickin' awesome. The scene with "Killbox Alpha" (yeah you know, with that soaring soundtrack) is just so damn awesome!

Gotta watch it now.

I recently bought Dragonheart on Blu-Ray (hence my avatar), and man, it's actually better than I remember, with a solid little story and great characters.
