I'm in the middle of Q&A, and at the beginning of chapter 11, Taurik was refered to as an Ensign. IIRC, Taurik was a full Lieutenant in the "A Time To..." series, and in all the other post-Nemesis books. Memories Alpha & Beta can't reconcile this either. Was this just a mistake on KRAD's part, or am I remembering Taurik's rank incorrectly?

Taurik was demoted in a strange incident involving noodles.

You sure it's not in one of the alt universe scenes? Although just reading the beginning of the chapter in question, it dosn't seem so. So, and with a very heavy heart, KRAD may have made a mistake as I'm sure he was a Lieutenant (not sure if he was Junior Grade or Full though) in the A Time to Series.

Lieutenant Taurik was killed. However, in response to fan clamoring, he was resurrected and returned to the fiction, albeit with a rank reduction to ensign due to broken service. This was done to quell claims by ardent Taurik supporters that the character's death was motivated by the editors' unchecked Vulcanism.

I know, they are so sadistic in their treatment of them. Do you have to allow the to learn new things, can't you just, you know, leave them alone and let them just be

It would just be easier if nobody ever died or changed in any way, and everyone stayed in the same place forever:devil:. At his point we can finally be happy:evil:

Ah, but he already had an identical twin brother, Vorik, so what's another soap opera cliche than a resurrection?

Or perhaps Vorik, out of a very veird Vulcan sense of honor, took the name of his fallen brother and continued his career, even though from a somewhat lower starting point?
