TATV

I was thinking about posting this in the ENT forum, but I believe it to fit better here. I was just wondering if anybody else refuses to call TATV an episode of ENT, but one of TNG. I'm not trying to start a debate about the quality of the episode. I just tend to think of Terra Prime as the last episode of ENT, not because I think TATV was bad or should be considered non-canon or anything like that, but because I think of TATV as TNG.

Anybody agree?

And also, I'm watching "The Pegasus" on G4 (which made me make this post in the first place) and I was just wondering how Worf knew that the Romulans had a two day head start searching the field. I don't know, just a thought.

You see...that's what I was trying to avoid with a carefully worded question. But I guess I can't be upset that people don't like the episode.

I was just wondering if TNG should henceforth be considered to have 177 episodes and ENT to have 96.

I don't think of TATV as an episode of TNG. And on a side note I don't care what it did to The Pegasus.

TATV.... I liked it. Flawed, but fun. There, I said it.

Its on my Enterprise DVD set. It has the Enterprise credits at the beginning. Therefore, I consider it an episode of Enterprise. I take the path of least resistance here.

I think there are more than enough TATV SUX threads in this universe. Another one is completely superfluous.

I think it's a rule that there must be a thread on this subject at least once a month.

I consider Voyager's "Death Wish" and "Pathfinder" TNG-By-Proxy episodes. But I try not to think to much about "These Are the Voyages..." in general.

::Sigh:: Nevermind, I was hoping to avoid a TATV sucks thread. I actually really like TATV, but that's besides the point. I was just making a point (that TATV takes place in on the 1701-D, and so I tend to think of it as an ep of TNG) and wanted to see what other people thought. Whether you thought it sucked or was the greatest single hour of television ever broadcast has nothing to do with it.

:( I really didn't mean to start a "TATV SUX" thread, I swear.

TaTV was as much an insult against TNG as it was against ENT.
Exactly my sentiments. Being a fan of both TNG and ENT I don't like it associated with either of them.

Funny there should be a TATV thread in here after I just watched it last night. I've been going through ENT's 4th season DVDs before I start my run through all seven seasons of TNG. My opinion of TATV hasn't changed since it first aired, and that is it's not a particually good episode, but it sure isn't worth all the hatred people give it. I can think of many worse episodes of ENT than that one.

And yes, it's an episode of ENT. As someone above me said, it's in my 4th season ENT DVD set, so it's a ENT episode.

^ Completely.

Totally detracts from the original episode. Doesnt make a lick of sense either. StewMc edited TATV into the original episode a while ago, and although he did a sterling job - it didnt work at all.

Why Riker is dicking about chopping carrots in the Holodeck whilst the rest of the crew is searching for a starship in an asteroid field i'll never know...

I can definitely see Riker wrestling with his own conscious on whether or not to disobey orders and tell Picard what's up, even confiding in Deanna because they are so close.

I don't even see what the ENT era parts did to make him decided one way or the other. He was just playing around in there in various roles.

And when push came to shove in the real Pegasus episode, Riker spilled the beans during a critical moment on the brige, he didn't just go tell the captain the news.

The other thing was that in The Pegasus, the wasn't even that big of a plot detail. He was under an Admiral's orders to be tight lipped, and Picard got frustrated/pissed about it.

I'm curious as to where I could see this.

I think TATV makes Riker look like an indecisive wuss.

Discounting maybe 15-20 episodes post BOBW, Riker came off that way to me all the time after he decided to accept a demotion back to Commander to serve as XO of the Enterprise-D again. TATV makes Riker look no worse than most of late TNG did.
