TASifying TOS Episodes

Many TV stories, especially TNG, have A and B plot lines. Just cut out the Bs and you probably have a 30 min episode

TOS is harder because they generally don't, or at least the B plot is directly connected to the A (romance/friendship/enmity with the problem of the week's representative guest character)

To what extent is that because we already had TTWT? We've seen them before, so we (and the characters) know what they are (at least somebody watching it does).
