Tarzan on The Planet of the Apes comic book crossover from Boom! Studios and Dark Horse

^^ It is a bit of an assumption.

This is just the kind of Wold-Newton thing that I love-- well, not really, since it's not the "real" Tarzan visiting the Planet of the Apes, but I can live with a parallel universe-- and it's such a great idea that I wonder why nobody ever thought of it before. I'm not familiar with any of those creators, and few contemporary creators interest me, but I'll keep an eye on this.

Maybe they can get Adam Ant to do a theme song for them. :rommie:

Okay, the little interview impressed me, as did the art sample. This could be good.

At first I was thinking it was absolutely insane, but then the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like an obvious choice for crossover.

That would be a fun twist on the idea, I honestly didn't think of that.

That's a cool idea, too. They could call him "Tarzaius" to make him sound more Planet of the Ape-ish. :rommie:

But... DOES he know the way to the waterfall??

This does sound like a neat crossover concept. I also noticed that "they" are yet again, bringing Tarzan back to the big screen.. Other than Greystoke, which was a modest success by today's standards, it's just not been done well over the years. I don't understand why "they" keep trying it. I guess it's just me...

I must say this cross-over did not occur to me.
Then too I had hopes for the GEICO Caveman series...whatever.

George, George-George of the Tundra...look out for that overhanging snow cornice.

I know that's on a mountain....

An asteroid has just hit the Indian Ocean which means that Shangri-La is the latest sea-side resort.

Out this window you can see the sherpas surfing and out that window you can see a coelacanth skiing.
Watch as Tidal waves and avalanches fight it out--as yeti suffer shark bites.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the first issue came out today.

The preview looks pretty good. Apparently there's five issues in the series. I'll probably buy the trade next year.

I just read through IGN's review, and this sounds even more interesting than I thought it would be. Apparently the basic concept is
that rather than ending up in the 1970s after Escape From The Planet of The Apes Cornelius and Zira end up the late 1800s and then stumble across Tarzan. It also jumps between a 2016 storyline and a 1901 story.

Makes more sense than a lot of crossovers, I'm a bit curious to check it out and I haven't picked up a comic in a while.

Glad to hear that. I had a mild curiosity in this, seemed a natural to combine the two properties but no clue how they would do it. This is the prefect solution. I will probably buy it now.
