It's amazing how these kind of comments were acceptable 15 years ago, and how some are only now realizing that drugging and raping minors is wrong. It's long overdue that people like Tarantino answer for such despicable comments.
Speaking of which; I am beyond disappointed that Roman Polanski has taken so little heat after the Weinstein scandal. He's a convicted rapist, and I don't care if a plea bargain blew up in his face, he deserves to be ostracized from the Hollywood community. Woody Allen was at least exonerated in a court of law (I'm not defending him), so what's Polanski's excuse?
As for Star Trek, the movie franchise is on thin ice as is, and letting Tarantino take over is too risky. An R-rated Trek from a man known for over-the-top violence, sex, and language always felt like a cheap ploy to invigorate an uncool franchise. I've said it about Discovery, and I'll say it about Tarantino: Trek should be open to audiences of all ages.
