Taking Chance - a HBO film.

I got a chance to watch Taking Chance tonight. For me, I'm ex-Air Force and it is one of the best movies about the military since Garden of Stone. I know Kevin Bacon is in like everything, but he gives a riveting performance here. I cried several times, the movie is mostly understated and thats where the power comes from. What I really appreciated most was the care they took to get the military part correct. Even the saluting was spot on, which is usually never correct in movies about the military.

It was a very moving film. I teared up several times too, especially when he met Chance's family in their house.

I have never served but this was an especially touching movie. Everything about it calls out for respect.
