Who's ready for another round of Bryan Mills kicking ass and taking names?

I really LOVE Liam Neeson, but the trailer just begs the question:
Why, oh WHY, can't bad guys just SHOOT someone and be done with it? No, they're going to kidnap his wife and hold her just long enough for Liam Neeson to come and slaughter them all. OY!

That looks really stupid. The dialogue was awful and the situation is incredibly contrived. I mean, I get that it's the action that people want to see but they should at least TRY to craft a good story around it.

So wait, Mr. Skillz kills half the Albanian Mafia plus an Arab sheik and his entourage, and then takes his family on vacation to Istanbul which is an eight hour drive away from the first and a short flight from the second? What, were Australia and Brazil closed for repairs or something? Alaska is nice this time of year if you don't mind wolves... Oh, right.

Why not just take a trip back to Paris while you're at it so your daughter can revisit all the highlights from her kidnapping and you can say hello to your friend's wife and see if her shoulder has healed, all while evading the police?

Nah, I'm just kidding. Don't ever change. I'm sold even with Maggie Grace now being some sort of rooftop ninja.

Like the first film, it looks like this will be another example of comfort food for action fans. Not worth seeing it in the theatre, but I'll catch it when the movie inevitably ends up on Netflix's instant watch service. That is, if the reviews aren't horrible.

will it solve the greatest mystery of the first film:

WHO WAS DRIVING THE BOAT?!!!

will it solve the greatest mystery of the first film:

WHO WAS DRIVING THE BOAT?!!!

The raptors who drove the boat into the pier in The Lost World: Jurassic Park before escaping to San Diego.

Was that really a mystery? It's the captain of the boat. Liam Neeson probably didn't need to kill any of the crew (who likely wouldn't put up a fight), just the sheik's security. After shooting the sheik in the head he forced the captain to pull to the side of the river at gunpoint.

Well, if you watched the first film, you know that the "just shoot him" ploy ended badly for a lot of the bad guys.

If I was an Albanian crimelord, I'd probably have just left Neeson alone after the last movie.

Maybe he's hoping somebody will get taken so that he can kill a bunch of people again.

I can't believe there's a sequel. But who knew that Neeson would have this new career as a crazy action hero.

Tactical question: Fucking with the man's family is what got all your friends and family killed in the first place. Why are you going to try to exact revenge by kidnapping his family again? That's just asking to get smacked around.

With that said I'll see it. I liked the first one and Neeson has turned into one of those actors who I'll go to a movie for just because he's in a leading role.
