I don't why that video has footage of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! in the background considering Ian Fleming wrote the book it's based on.

Apparently these two series will be the first in a whole collection of animated series based on Dahl's books that Netflix is working on.
Yeah, I posted a thread on that news about a year ago although this is the first specific news we've gotten since then.

As I said then, I'm most looking forward to George's Marvellous Medicine, which remains my favorite Dahl book. I get they "have" to do Charlie and the Chocolate Factory since it's his most famous, but he wrote so many other great books and short stories that have never been adapted.

I've never even heard of George and the Marvelous Medicine. It would be nice if they did do at least a few of his lesser known books.

You, sir, need to go the library. Stat!

Also, I brain farted the title: George's Marvellous Medicine (yes, with two L's).

The only Roald Dahl book I've read is James and the Giant Peach, which I read for school. I have been thinking reading some of them now though, even though I'm in my 30s, I have no problem reading kids book.

He wrote the movie screenplay. He also wrote the screenplay for You Only Live Twice.
Oh, that's true, I had forgotten that. But doesn't necessarily mean Netflix has the rights to it since it's not a Dahl original. Still seems like an odd inclusion to the video especially since there wasn't a reference to in this announcement or the initial one the previous year where the listed a whole bunch of titles they were going to adapt.

Screw the Oompa Loompa one, just give me The Great Glass Elevator already. :)
Indeed. This will be third major adaptation of the original but nothing for the sequel. That said, I bet we'll actually get the sequel this time if the original is successful enough. It definitely seems like Netflix is committed to adapt as many of the Dahl stories that they can and that's truly a blessing.

Yeah, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we got a second season adapting The Glass Elevator if Chocolate Factory is successful enough.
