Sho have you considered adding any kind of a publication date column? That way if you want to just see what the latest novel got, but aren't sure which book it is you can set it to be on top.
It could also get confusing with so many old books now popping up amidst the new stuff, if you're only interested in one category or the other.

I'd think that would be difficult, since that would require drawing on information that isn't actually present in this forum's review threads, and I don't think the site is set up to do that.

Hmm no, haven't considered that yet - originally I was limited to the data that can be found in the threads themselves, which doesn't include the publication date. But now that I'm mapping the books to Goodreads entries (which seems to have proven pretty reliable) I could get the publication dates from Goodreads perhaps, if their data set is reasonably complete for that. A cursory examination suggests it may be.

Oh, I didn't realize it did so much of that automatically. (Edited after reading Sho's post)

Yeah, all of it runs fully automatically - the only hand-curated part is a blacklist of duplicate threads with two entries so far :) (and even that could possibly have been solved procedurally by preferring the thread with more votes or so).

Alright, we got a "Published" column now. It's still fairly untested first-cut code plus I'm pretty tired, but it seems to work for now.

:techman: Cheers! As this is my current 'reread' book in between reading new books I will be able to contribute in that poll as I will be able to remember details about the book.

Small note: After I introduced the publication date column I forgot to adjust the default sort column so the page is still sorted by forum score initially - that's fixed now.

You might have noticed that the thread table is currently not reachable. I temporarily disabled my websites as a security precaution due to the Heartbleed bug that is currently causing pain for just about any server admin on the web - heavy-handed, but it was the easiest fix in the situation. I'm working on restoring things soon-ish.

I have fallen behind a week on my schedule so to get back on track I will most likely post another review thread on Monday after the one for The Red King I posted today.
