Tabletop RPG: Romulans

So I'm building my own Campaign Setting in the Star Trek Universe and can't find any info on the Romulans. I know the Romulans share characteristics with the Vulcans, but I thought they were different enough to not share certain racial abilities (the Vulcan Mind Meld, for example).

Admittedly, I'm new to Star Trek. Can anyone tell me if a Romulan is just a Vulcan with a different culture or where I can find some stat info on Romulans (preferably d20 or Decipher/Coda)?

Thanks!

There was a box set for the Last Unicorn system called The Way of D'era that was pretty cool back in the day. the LUG system isn't all that far removed from the CODA system. If you can find a copy that is...

Obviously not an official answer, but since the time-frame that the Vulcan-Romulan schism apparently happened once Vulcan technology was at a level to support interstellar travel, I don't see why there'd be much biological difference between Vulcans and Romulans. I'd expect that by that point, short of some kind of eugenics program, their medical technology would have largely overtaken natural selection. I guess some kind of eugenics program might fit into the portrayal of the Romulans, but I don't see why it would be aimed at getting rid of the Vulcan ability with psionics.

saw two differant versions on amazon one has may1999 in brackets the other sept1999 any indea whats the difference? or are they the same thing?
may put an order in for a sept1999 one as I do like the Rommies myself (and it's cheaper)

righty oh thanks anyway. put in order for one anyway, might be useful when I come to redo my version of the Romulan history

I don't think there's any difference. Maybe a second printing, but I don't think they held the license or that product was on shelves long enough to warrant a second printing. My guess is it's unimportant.

Also, if you're doing that, the FASA stuff, while wildly erroneous now, still had some neat ideas in it. Might be harder to track down than Way of D'era, though.

Since you're doing your own version of Romulan history (which makes perfect sense -- there's not all that much Romulan history established on-screen), I'm kind of curious in what era you're setting your game.
