T:SCC - still some life?

Here's an interesting Q&A with Thomas Dekker of the late, lamented Sarah Connor Chronicles. Among the tidbits is the fact there's been some talk of doing a direct-to-DVD movie a la Stargate, though Dekker says this may be tough following the Salvation movie. He also talks about his infamous YouTube video about the cancellation, and he makes mention that impatience (whether on the part of the audience or on the part of the network, he doesn't say) may have played a role in the show going off the air.

I hope the movie comes together. We've had a few occasions now where made-for-DVD has allowed us to have some reunions: Babylon 5, Stargate, even Dead Like Me. And on a couple occasions DVD sales have brought a show back (Family Guy) or contributed to the decision to do a theatrical film (Serenity). I'd like to see more shows do DVD/BR-exclusives, especially shows that haven't been allowed to complete their story arcs, such as T:SCC.

I would jump on any opportunity to continue the series. I'm keeping my hopes in check as best I can though.

What do you mean? I've rarely seen a show with such a satisfying ending as T:SCC. Maybe not what the writers intended, but it left me with a big grin.

In what way? It nicely wraps up most of the storylines (unless someone really wants to get back to the "mysterious paintings" from the second episode of the first season)

^I think Josh Friedman would be pleased to see two such different interpretations of the finale. From what I've read, he intended it to be something that could work either as a resolution or a cliffhanger. Yes, it's a resolution that leaves a ton of unanswered questions, but that's the way he likes telling stories.

Crap, horrible crap, crap no one should talk about.

And nothing about Futurama being brought back twice?! Boo to you.

It was indeed a painful cliffhanger, but to me -- along with kings' finale -- also served as a nice "and the journey goes on" type of ending, however unintended it was.

This has actually been rumored since early June as being possible through the Save the SCC society with both Thomas Dekker and Brian Austin Green commenting that they'd heard of the possibility and were interested. However, there are more than one problem that might be preventing this.

1.) There is a massive lawsuit filed against Halcyon, current owners of the Terminator franchise, over it because they didn't pay the correct people following Terminator Salvation. The financial backers, it was a group of Angels actually, want ownership over the rights from Halcyon as compensation as well as 40 million USD.

2.) Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to acquire the rights to the franchise according to an interview he did with The Arnold Fans and is involved with the lawsuit mentioned above.

3.) McG has not yet been cut out of the franchise and has expressed an interest in uniting the two continuities in Terminator 5 (I'm not making that up, he mentioned it recently in an interview with MTV).

Would I be opposed to it though? No. There were too many possibilities left unanswered.

^ I wouldn't be surprised by that to an extent.

What's interesting is that the producers all swore that there would be no continuations if Fox terminated them.
