so here my report from the Reunion con at Daventry, Midengland !
Thursday :
My trip to Daventry was easy, more than i thought. Except that, in Daventry, i get lost. I walked a lot, looking for the hotel. My feet were on fire, my bag was heavy and i was warm. Finally, afrer a couple hours, i found a taxi who drove to the hotel. I don't tell how happy i was to finally arrive. I went directely to the reception desk to check-in my room. Suddenly, i heard someone talking. I said to me :"well, i know this voice". I turned my head to my left and it was Connor talking to the second receptionnist. He seemed a little tired (i learned later that he was arrived at 10 this morning). Then, he went back to his room. Later Valentina arrived, and NXoner a little later after Valentina. I crossed Connor several time this evening, but he just said "hi".
Friday :
I jump to the opening ceremony with the guests introducing. They all were fun and friendly.
Then it was the cocktail party. The guests were there. Eddie McClintock from warehouse 13 sat at our table and he is such a great guy, very friendly, with always a little word for everyone. Unfortunately, Connor stayed at an another table and the guests doesn't switch.
After, the cocktail party was the games party with all the guests. And that was hilarious. Especially, the "pass the parcell" game with the forfeit. For example, Katrina Law and Connor had to mime the saucer detachment of the Enterprise. A really great and hilarious moment !
Then came the Dance party. So the guests left the room. But before that, my friend Valentina decided to introduce me to Connor. And here my little chat with him :
Connor :"Hey ! How are you ?"
Me :"fine ! thanks ! I just wanted to say you that i follow your carreer for a long time now and i think you're a great guy."
suddenly, in my head, i heard Madonna singing Like a viiiirgiiiin.... damn ! It's like i was 12 
Connor : "well, thanks. where do you come from ?"
Me :"from France."
Connor :" France !!! so have you seen Enterprise ?"
Me :"yes, of course."
Connor :"was it aired in France ?
Me" yeah, but you know, that was very confidential. It was aired on a satellite channel and as our satellite airing was pretty new at this time...."
Connor :I see.... I've been in France...."
And there, his minder asked him something and Connor said to me :
Connor :"Are you here for all week-end ?"
Me : "yes"
Connor :"Great : so we will meet again !"
Me ;"oh yeah, thank you ! bye !
Connor :"have a great night !
And he left !
So after that, i ran to the bar to share this moment with NXoner, Valentina and all.
Saturday :
It was the Q&A sessions day. So i had my breakfast at around 9 because i wanted to go to Phil Ford talk (he is the Dr who and Torchwood writer). Just before his talk, i realized that i forgot my camera. So i went to my room to take it. By crossing, the restaurant room to join the conference room, i saw my friend Valentina sat alone at a table. She waved me to come and asked to sat because there was a suprise. So i waited and the surprise arrived : Connor and his breakfast sat at our table. I was a little embarrassed because I thought he would have breakfast quieltly, but he was very nice. Zack and Mary joined us and we spent around one hour all together. Connor talked to us about politics (he is very angry against this priest who wanted to burn the coran and against the press and the medias who talked too much about that), about his job (he explained to us how awfull was Hollywood for actors in this time and he is very angry against the hollywood industry because a lot of tv shows are shooted out of US), about Jasper (this little boy made him laugh just before he took his plane to London. Jasper is in his Superhero phase and he likes a lot Batman. So he put his batman suit on and went to see his father and strike the pose Bateman). Just after that, he said he had to go back to his room because he had a photo of that and he wanted to download it on his Ipod to show us during his talk.
I went to Katrina Law talk and God, this girl is so sweet and cute and so fresh too. She talked about his job on Spartacus : blood and sand. She said that it was tough for her at the beginning on this show because she was afraid with all this men naked on the set. So she asked to his fiancée to come with her every day on the set and now he is friend with all the cast and the people working there, but the naked men are still there.
The next talk was Eddie McClintock. This man is so down to earth and very friendly, entertaining. He said to us the same things than Connor said on Hollywood. He added that reality shows were a curse for real actors, because the producers hired people from reality shows, but they have no talent, they don't fight to have the chance to be on a tv show. It's a pity because they steal jobs to real actors. So now, he is considering lucky to be on a regular show and with success and by respect to this poor actors who don't eat every day because they have no job, he wants to stay humble and try to do his best on his show and appreciate every minutes spend on his set.
The last talk was Connor's. And it was great, of course. He showed up the pic of Jasper and this kid is so cute and funny in the batman pose.
Most of the thing he said, we already know (he likes the final of Enterprise because it's about him and his character, so it's great for an actor. He admitted he wouldn't react like this if his character died in mid-saison.
No job for the moment. We all launched a sad "oooooooooh" but he said that was not a big deal, that that was normal in an actor life, sometimes they work, sometimes, no. And he said that he was not unhappy with this situation because he had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Jasper (more than ordinary fathers).
The night was the costume contest and the guests were the jury. That was nice and fun to watch.
There was a Tv shows quizz after that. We had to find the tv show name corresponding to a deformed theme. Connor was fun because he was so bad in this game. If i remember well, on 20 questions, he has only find the theme of "family guys".
After that game, i went to my room to take my cigarettes. In the corridor, i met Connor going to his room. I said :
Me : "already going to bed ?"
Connor :"well, yeah, you know, i have this audition to prepare and i tape in tomorrow"
Me :"so you need to sleep."
Connor :" oh yeah !"
Me :"so have a great night !"
Connor :"you too ! night night !"
Me : night night !"
Sunday
that was the last Connor's talk. And he was hilarious. He told us a great story. When he was younger, with some friends, they get drunk (and very drunk). So he decided to go home by feet. He was so drunk that he was afraid to be kidnapped and/or raped. So as soon he saw a car, he jump behind bushes. When he finally went home, he jumped in his bed and felt asleep. He woke up in the afternoon with a huge hungover when he looked his bed, there were plenty of strange bugs, plenty of grass, and plenty of all things.
After this talk, i went to the autograph session and i got my connor's autograph. I asked if i can tell him something :
Connor :"sure !"
Me :" i just wanted to say thank you to be there and you know, it's my first con..."
Connor :"ever ?"*
Me :"yeah"
Connor :"Wow"
me : " and yeah, i was a little nervous so thank you because you made things easier for me"
Connor :"well, thank you, but it was my pleasure"
Me : " thank you ! see you soon !"
Connor :"Ok, see you soon !"
After this moment, the last time i see Connor was at the closing ceremony until around eleven when Valentina and me were sitting on the sofa in the hall. We were chatting about all and nothing. And Connor arrived ! He said to us that his flight was at six ! so he went to bed. He said to me :"it was a great meet !" "me too" " so when does we meet the next time?" "in Italy in December", "oh yes, Great ! see you there then !" and he left.
Monday morning back to reality
