Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone, was found dead today at his Los Angeles home, EW has confirmed.

“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone,” Sylvester’s rep, Michelle Bega, said in a statement. “His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha [Czack]. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever.”

The Los Angeles Police Department told People that there were no signs of foul play and that reports that Sage died from a prescription overdose are premature.

“It could have been a heart attack or a stroke,” LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told People, adding the coroner’s office will likely spend several weeks on a toxicology report before it determines cause of death.

How tragic. Sylvester Stallone was just at Comic Con on Thursday with Arnie to talk with fans about Expendables 2. He was probably informed of this news some time afterwards. :(

Sly was just at SDCC and having the time of his life promoting Expendables 2.

How quickly fortunes change. Very sad.

What a terrible tragedy.

Just yesterday I was watching Rocky Balboa, where Rocky gives his son the "It's about how hard you can get hit" speech.

I really hope that it was a natural cause and not something due to drug abuse. For Sly's sake.

No one should lose their child. It's with that notion that my thoughts are with him, as they would be and have been with anyone going through something like that.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I just saw on the LAist that the coroner report confirmed that Sage Stallone died of a heart attack and not a drug overdose, as some suspected. Link.

That has got to be one of the worst pains in the world - losing a son. I can't even begin to imagine what Sly must be going through now. :(

At least Sage's pain is over now.

Side note: I had no idea Sage was 36! I only remember him as Rocky Jr. as a teenager from the fifth film...

Wow. 36 is still pretty young for a heart-attack without some underlining, serious, heart conditions isn't it?

I must have missed this thread the first time around, but my condolences go out to the family.

EDIT: And then I read the link pretty much saying exactly what I just said. 36 is young for a heart attack but he had heart disease.
