It'll never happen in a million years, but I think it would be cool if the new age of action stars -- Matt Damon, Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, maybe even throw in Nicolas Cage -- all died in the first few minutes of one of the sequels, thus requiring the old school guys to come in and save the day.

If this turns out in the end to be merely a Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever-caliber movie, or -THE HORROR!- the Ocean's Eleven of actioners, I predict rioting in the streets, hellfire raining from the heavens, cats and dogs living together, pandemonium.

The awesome quotient is so high, nothing less than being the best action movie in the history of the world is going to be good enough.

That said, I fully expect this to be not only the best action movie in the history of the world, but that its sequels will get progessively better and more awesomer.

Rambo 4 was a modern action movie classic. The rape and pillage of the village by the Burmese Army was one of the most horrifying scenes ever filmed on a Hollywood movie. But it's totally balanced out by the awesomeness of that last scene when HE GETS ON THE 50 CAL. AND SHOOTS UPS THOSE BASTARDS REALLY GOOD OH MY GOD I'M NERDGASMING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!

I need to watch my copy RIGHT NOW!

Sly's supposedly cutting the first trailer for the Venice Film Festival, so we might finally be seeing something in September.

They're just very brief snippets in between some MMA stuff. Some look like they're just behind the scenes shots, but there are some shots of Randy Couture in action (like him attacking Stone Cold Steve Austin).

I didn't read this thread and I on't care about this movie....I just wanted to say how weird it is that I've seen this thread here for about 3 months it seems like and it's only at about 165 posts...well 166 now.

It's official -- Bruce Willis is in. The plan is for him, Stallone and Schwarzenegger to be in the same scene.

Yowza! Now all they need in a trailer is to flash the names of the guys in this movie, blow something up, show the Expendables walking together and the title and that's it.

I'm pretty sure as teenage boys, my friends and I always had great "What if?" movies planned in our head - and one with a cast like this was one of them.
