Syfy UK are having a weekend of the best DS9 episodes. I don't know how the episodes were selected but they are great choices!

Saturday 29th March:

• "Emissary"
• "Duet"
• "Crossover"
• "The Jem'Hadar"
• "Defiant"
• "The Way of the Warrior"
• "The Visitor"
• "Little Green Men"

Sunday 30th March:

• "Our Man Bashir"
• "Trials and Tribble-ations"
• "Doctor Bashir I Presume"
• "Children of Time"
• "Favour the Bold"
• "Sacrifice of Angels"
• "Far Beyond the Stars"
• "In the Pale Moonlight"
• "What You Leave Behind"

Wow, and I thought the "Berman era" was "dead" and "forgotten." :p Very cool. It would be awesome if they did that in the US as well. I have netflix and the DVDs, but somehow seeing them on the old boob tube still makes me excited! I wouldn't consider all of those episodes up there with the "best," but I do think that's a nice mix of episodes. :techman:

SyFy heavily edited the series unfortunately, especially seasons 1-3, and it was those edited episodes that were aired again today. Duet has the stabbing of Marritza removed (he's just suddenly falling down with a knife in his back) and Crossover is missing Odo's explody demise.

From tomorrow's episodes I seem to remember Favor the Bold is missing a good half an hour or so from the 'Kira pummels Damar's face' scene, and also that a chunk of Benny Russell being beaten up by the Dukat/Weyoun cops was also removed. Not really sure why these edits were made - they've been shown uncut on at least five channels here in the UK before - but SyFy don't seem interested in putting the material they cut out back in... :(

Some UK tv channels do seem to overdo the censorship of certain aspects. Take E4 for an example, lots of the american sitcoms they show have 'rude' punchlines cut, but they leave the laughter track in. eg in one episode of the Big Bang Theory, penny calls somebody(i forget who) 'you rat b*****d' cue laughter, but in the edited version its 'you rat' and then laughter, makes no sense. SyFy cuts stuff from other shows too, not just star trek.

I actually like that they cut out the mirror universe Odo's death in "Crossover" - I never liked how he just exploded - "The Adversary" and "Apocalypse Rising" have much better Changelings death scenes.
