Just in time for BSG's finale, Sci Fi will be changing it's branding in order to "broaden" it's appeal.

Remember when some show on UPN tried to drop something from it's title to broaden it's appeal? Yeah. It didn't work.

 That is so stupid. How does it "broaden their appeal" at all? It sounds exactly the same as SciFi, it just looks more idiotic.

I'm still waiting for the Scifi Channel to return. What it is now is not "Scifi" as I know it.

Maybe if someone nailed Hammer she'd leave sci-fi to sci-fi. You don't see The Golf Channel bringing in new programming like cooking shows or the like in order to braoden their audience. Sometimes you just have to be happy with the customers you have.

I think it's pretty hilarious that the brilliant marketing department behind this believe that a phonetically identical "re-branding" will actually help SciFi get better ratings. Their one critically-acclaimed show (which has terrible ratings but I still love) is ending this Friday, and the only other things they have to offer include "professional" wrestling and Mansquito-type opuses. Way to go, "Syfy!"

This is Scifi's schedule

Horrible Original Programming
Enterprise
Stargate
Horrible Horror Movies
Wrestling

I guess since BSG is ending on Friday they've just given up.

Ever read Dilbert? The motto of their marketing department is, "it's better to ask forgiveness than to seek permission." :D

That logo is hilarious.

What is up with that enormous drop-shadow?

At SyFy, our logo is very brightly lit! and quite tall, apparently!
