Syfy gets GLAAD

What? Is the new character supposed to be gay? There was zero hint of it. In fact, there was zero hint of character or personality at all.

This hasn't been established on-air yet, just in advance publicity and interviews.

I'm sure they'll get around to mentioning it eventually.

I don't get the OP?
There should be a thread to discuss a gay character introduced on Warehouse 13 in the year 2011 why?

What is this 1995? Gay characters are all over cable and network. This isn't a ground breaking development.
Maybe out of nowhere as there was little to nothing to hint at his sexual orientation but that isn't the takeway I got from the OP.

What? You haven't seen all the news reports?!?!?

Gay characters who are leads still aren't that common. Gay characters who might be action leads are even less common. Gay characters in scifi are still less common.

They say pixels can't splutter, but reading this thread, I'm not so sure.

"Hello, I'm a gay scifi action lead. Have we met?"

Well, this is the first I've heard of this. There was no hint of it in the episode. It will be cool if they go through with it, though.
There wasn't a hint that he's straight either. I'm really happy they introduced the character and didn't force a "He's gay!" scene into his first episode. He's not supposed to be the gay guy, he's a new agent that happens to be gay.

Would Sam Adama count? He's probably the closest Caprica had to an action guy.

I always get Ashmore mixed up with his X-Men buddy, who played Pyro. I liked that actor better - Aaron Stanford. Too bad he's stuck on Nikita, a show I don't watch.
Shawn Ashmore was in the X-Men films. He's Aaron Ashmore's twin brother. They had Aaron Ashmore come in for the scene where Mystique had tranformed into Bobby Drake so they could film it without any need for FX.

Actually, they did do that scene with FX. Bryan Singer didn't know that Sean Ashmore had a twin brother until later.
