Sybok????

Should we see Sybok in this film. I think it would be really cool to see how Spock and his elder brother got along as children. Thoughts?

I for one always loved the character of Sybok as portrayed by Laurence Luckinbill. I doubt that we will be seeing him though.

Considering the long lifespan of most Vulcans, it's entirely possibly Spock wasn't even born until long after Sybok left home to pursue his deviant ways. They may never have even spent much time together beyond an occasional visit home by him.

I agree it would be cool but I doubt this point will be given much screen time, if any at all.

If I remember the dialog from ST 5 correctly, Spock said; "After her (Vulcan Princess mother of Sybok) death, Sybok and I were raised as brothers.

The attack by Nero could be what killed her thus setting the stage for Sybok to move in with Sarek, Amanda and Spock once the crisis is over. Would the formation of this new family be shown, implied or just left hanging for us to figure out... I don't know.

On the other hand, one of the people shown in the following img could be Sybok which blows my theory all to hell but I don't think it is, I don't recall a "young Sybok" listed in the cast list.

If Sybok is present there, I doubt much screen time will be allotted for their relationship to be displayed, a line or two tops.

IMDb.co lists three young actors as Vulcan bullies. Maybe one is Sybok but they didn't want to give away that it was him.
