Can't find the thread or I'd have bumped it - since when does Star Trek use Sonic Screwdrivers? :D (P131)

Great book by the way - I read it a while ago and my Dad's just reading it, can't believe he spotted the reference and I didn't!

I'm not sure, but I think they've actually made that reference on episodes of the shows too. If you listen carefully, they actually did through a few of those kinds of references around on occasion.

Though there will probably never be another slew of references to other franchises as large as what I had in OR THE TIGER, I still like to toss stuff in when I think of it.

The flux regulator started out as a flux capacitor but I nixed it before sending in my draft. And I'm glad you liked it. Hope your dad does too.

The Flux Capacitor is also mentioned in the DS9 episode What You Leave Behind, as well as the novels Kobayashi Maru, and Demons of Air and Darkness.

I'm sure I've come across it in other novels, too.

I just checked for the SS on Memory Beta, but didn't find anything. Maybe it was another sci-fi show, like one of the Stargates or something.

There are at least two mentions of a sonic screwdriver in the Wildfire MMPB, according to Google Books. Sonic screwdriver also appears in The Wounded Sky, and Malefictorum. Found these in the first 120 results, I'm not looking at all 616, which includes other non-Dr. Who stories from the looks ot if.
