Sword of Damocles available on Amazon

I'm about halfway through the book now. Not too many comments on the plot yet, but I have to say there are points when the stuff has gotten so technical I've been convinced that "Geoffrey Thorne" is a pseudonym for Christopher Bennett.

Nope. Mr. Bennett is an actual scientist. I just fake it.

But, if you think i can write as well, HOT DAMN. I'll take that as a compliment.

You're too flattering -- I'm not an actual scientist. I just have a bachelor's degree in physics, and I barely managed to pass my senior year. (Too much calculus.)

calculus is good for you. :p

I had great fun going through 3rd year physics, and luckily for me our exam paper had all the correct formulae, I heard one year they got the Schroedinger's equation wrong on the exam paper.

So basically I am Pike now stuck in a chair??? At least give me my drawing arm to be creative.

Which would pretty much make you Davros, right? :D

OK, OK, I'm sorry, I'll go back to the Doctor Who forum where I belong... ;)

the Eav'oq are an alien race in DS9R and led to a series of frankly over-used and increasingly unfunny puns using the 'oq spelling in words like shock.

So, the jokes weren't prEav'oqative enough?

That's my schtick!

Still, though...nice to know my work will continue.

I just learned something astonishing. Something I had no idea about until today.

The 3D model used in the creation of the SoD cover art was created by my first cousin's husband, whom I'm going to meet for the first time later this month.

Bizarre, huh?

I bought the book yesterday. I've only read a few chapters I like what I've read so far. One question I wonder about is Will & Deanna seem so angry with each other and are barely talking to each other in the last chapter I finished reading. :vulcan:

While the specifics were unclear at first, it was pretty easy to guess that Riker and Troi's friction had something to do with the major decision made at the end of Orion's Hounds.

Thanks Merry for reminding me about the decision in Orion's Hounds. Now it makes sense about the friction between Riker & Troi. :)

Just finished SOD. In my opinion it was the best of the Titan books. The series started off strong but I barely made it through Red King and put Hounds down half way through. I was really surprised to have enjoyed SOD as much as I did. I did have a question though. On page 70 it states that Tuvok is "his chief security and tactical officer." To me that reads like Tuvok is security chief. I thought Keru was security chief. Am I reading it wrong? Anybody? Bueller? Anyway, pick up SOD if you haven't yet?
