Sword of Damocles Already Released ?

That has to be some kind of glitch because they haven't even released the back cover text yet and it's listed as a November release on S&S's Star Trek page. You should probably try to get ahold of someone at Amazon.co.uk and tell them about that.

Well, Resistance IS kinda avaliable, a month in advance of the UK release date isn't seemingly unusual, I remember getting Taking Wing a week or so before the UK release date.

Resistance would just take up to 3 weeks to get to you, so it might mean they have some, but not many and probably import copies.

But, four and a bit months in advance of a release is odd, so yes, imediately after posting here I sent a message to Amazon, waiting for a reply now.

I would assume so JD since a manuscript has to be handed in to the editor months in advance in order to have it proof read and for changes to made if neccessary.

Books are scheduled months or even years in advance so writers need deadlines in order to meet the scheduled release. Since SOD is scheduled for Novemeber, Pocket already has the manuscript and giving it the final once over before it heads to the printer.

D'oh! :brickwall: :brickwall: That's just two months away isn't it. I was thinking there were still like 5 or 6 months.

December, actually, but yes, Redjack has to have already sent SOD off a while back if they intend to keep to their schedule.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

(P.S. Anybody who thinks I posted this just to be able to write 'SOD off'... is probably right)

Trent,

I know it's a December release but Amazon is shipping it the 3rd week in November.

So, I sent Amazon UK an e-mail and they send me the following back:

Dear Customer

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk to inform us of this issue.

Our latest information indicates that this title has not yet been released.

Please be informed that the expected release date is January 07, 2008, however please know that publication dates are always subject to change at the discretion of the publisher.

However, please rest assured that our ordering department will dispatch it to you without any delay as soon as we receive a copy from the supplier.

We have pre-ordered this title from our supplier, and expect to obtain copies directly following its release.

We will do our best to keep our site updated with any changes in availability.

I was quite clear in the message I sent to them that they had two contradictory dates on the page ; they don't seem to have understood that, I wasn't asking when it would be delivered, I was saying the page was wrong.

And it's still saying 6-11 days. Stupid Amazon.
