Swoosh--bleep--rumble

We all have our favorite 'clicks' on TOS. You know what I mean. That distictive background noise on the TOS bridge. Or the way the 'transporter sounds' or the 'swoosh' noice the TOS doors make...will you expect some of these more favorite sound effects to make it in to the movie? And if they don't, will you fire off a nitpicking zinger??? For me? I'm not sure. I love that background bridge effect, so if it isn't there...I might go after JJ with hate letters for the next fifty years!!!

I have to admit I'd love to hear those old classic beepy-swooshy-things. But I'm not going to spit the dummy out if I don't.

:D

I think the transporter noise and swooshing doors will be there.

I'm not so sure about the bridge background noise. Maybe it will make a brief appearance.Who knows...

I'd like transporters and doors to keep their long established sounds or something close to it, don't really mind either way about the bridge.

It gets even worse- I have that beeping background noise from the bridge as a mp3 file on my pc.... it'd be like coming home if they'd keep it, but I wouldn't bet any money on it, as I don't think it's very "futuristic" to us anymore and Archer's Enterprise didn't beep or whoosh.... which is a shame, really.

Sorry, I'm in the "it's cheesy" camp on this one. I hope they leave them out. It's very antiquated to have them running in the background all the time. I much prefer the quiet hum of the ship from TNG-VOY.

Also, I'm cool with the odd button press sound-throwback though. Just not all the time please.

Transporters, doors, and sensor sounds, yes.

They should, as much as I'd miss them, probably stay away from clicking computers since we know computers today don't sound like that. (sometimes they do though, when rebooting for example but that is not the same thing, right?)

That's what I meant when I said that all the bleeping and whatnot isn't futuristic to us anymore. It's a little camp, really, but that doesn't mean I don't get a little nostalgic when I hear it.

It shouldn't be in the new film though, I agree with that.

I want to hear that deep "revving up" sound the warp engines made every time Sulu stepped on the gas! :D

Made the ship seem a lot more real and powerful than later series when the bridge was pretty silent aside from beeping instruments.

I have no expectations that we'll hear that sound, but that was probably the first sound effect I thought of in regard to this topic. Logical or not, that was a sound which said "All right, now we're going somewhere!" and that made it all kinds of cool.

Indeed - I fear that they won't bother with it as well. :(
