Sweet zombie jesus - it's... TWINS!

two_heads.jpg

My wife and I are pleased to announce we are having our planned second and totally unexpected third child sometime in the middle of the year. We just had our 13 week scan and all look good, low risk of downes syndrome (1 in 4000) and it looks at this stage like they're fraternal.

My wife and I both have twins in our family so it wasn't that unexpected, however my wife's medication for her rheumatoid arthritis has been playing havoc with her cycle so she most likely just shot out two eggs.

To my friends on facebook, please wait till you see the images on my profile before commenting there, for us to inform crucial people in person.

So yeah... a little freaky... but it means a people mover and bigger house a lot sooner than we expected....

Feel free to post names. We have some in mind but are open to suggestion. We find out the gender at 20 weeks.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I would say God Bless you...but He already has. That is just beautiful. I wish you all the best.

That is absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!:techman:

As for names, I am drawing a blank.

And in response to JiNX-01, there was a story in the news about a couple that had twins born in different decades!!!:wtf:

Yep. One was born at 11:59pm in 2009, the other two minutes later or thereabouts 12:01 in 2010. Strange but true.:)

If the twins are both boys, then how about Larry and Bob? ;)

(seriously, when was the last time you ever heard names like that? Those are - gasp - NORMAL names! Not this fancy shit that a lot of kids are being named lately)

^ Meh, too many so-called "normal" names can get kind of boring. I sometimes wish my parents had been a bit more creative in naming me -- I've been in groups where there have been several other guys with the same first name as me, and that can occasionally get confusing. ;)

But anyway, congratulations Candlelight! That's awesome news! I remember how excited I was when my aunt told us that she was expecting twins -- a very joyous occasion indeed (I just wish I could tell them apart more easily! :p)

I had no idea that twins could run in the famaly. I thought that was disproven or maybe that was just identical twins.

If it is true, I'm probably doomed if I ever have children. Twins run in both of my families; my father has a sister and brother who are twins, and my mother has two sisters who are twins.

Unless it really only applies to women, in which case I'll be safe. :techman:

:-) Congratulations. :-)

I will say as trampledamage does. Congratulations and commisseration.. because I am too a twin (I have a 4 minute older twinsister) and we certainly were a handful.
Our parents already had 4 kids and then got pregnant unexpectedly... and when it was time to give birth out I came aswell  I was a lot smaller than my sister and had not made my presance known :D

Congratulations! And best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and delivery for your wife. Your life will be very rich and full for many, many years. :)
